When Russ got picked off today I swear I did a double take as it looked exactly like "the play" at the end of 49. The db jumped the slant route, colided with Moore (#83, same as Lockette), and picked it off.

Brought back bad memories.

Was wondering if anyone else caught that, I'm sure someone on Twitter did as well-I'm wondering if they should just scrap that play all together

One was in Arizona and this one against Arizona.

That was completely on Moore. RW made the right pass Moore just stopped for whatever reason.

I brought that up to my wife when I had seen the play. I had to rewind it on my DVR & look at it a few times & it happened in Arizona ironically. Wife proceeded to smack me in that back of the head, for making her relive that moment

Of course that's what Bevell said about Lockette in SB49. Didn't cross strongly enough.

Seems that play sucks whenever it's not Baldwin running the cross.

Lockette ran through a brick wall compared to what Moore did today.

That play immediately flashed my mind about the SB49.

Dave Wyman kept saying on the radio how it was just like XLIX.

Rustle needs to throw it a bit lower. Lower chance of int, at worst knock down

Actually I think it's higher throws that are a lesser risk. With lower throws, it's more accessible to anyone.

Higher throws maybe on the sideline, anywhere else a tip puts it up for grabs, or a deep cover able to intercept if it sails a bit.

Low and away if they are not a 6'7 guy you can extend, slide and grab those throws and typically not be laid out for a big hit.

I was thinking in both cases that Russ led the WR too much. If he'd aimed more for the receiver's body, the defender would not have been able to drive in like that without it being PI.

Moore's effort level seems pretty low lately, there was another deep ball it looked to me like he didn't make much of an effort on.

Wonder if he's playing hurt. He's definitely looking like someone that's struggling.
