I'm gonna junk punch the first person to point out that it's actually in the pinned announcement at the top of the page.

The figure of $54,980,232 may not be exactly accurate as OTC.com has not noted the signing of the final 3 reserve futures contracts in that calculations. As well it seems inevitable that the team will claw back about $8 million from Kam when he is released and more if designated a post June 1 release. There may be other cap cuts as well.

Finally I doubt OTC has added the approximately $2.5 million the team will roll over from this year's cap to next year's numbers.

Reality is the available cap is probably closer to $64 million, give tor take a million.

IIRC we currently have less players under contract than any other team in the league, so the thinking that we have functional cap space is a little misleading. There will be very little or no luxury shopping.

Sad part is the most likely of those cuts are last year's signings that cost us decent comp picks, e.g. Dickson, Mingo, Brown. Would be nice to have that money and those picks back.

Depending on how loosely we define "punch" I've already done that several times today!

If you look at the FAs we have the team is in pretty good shape, considering the huge talent loss last offseason. There are 48 players presently under contract, 12 ERFAs that are totally under team control and 5 RFAs: Assuming the team keeps the ERFAs and 4 of the RFAs. That gives them 64 players they know going into the draft, I assume they will keep at least 4 of the UFAs they are at 68 players going into the draft, of course they could keep more. . Let’s assume with trades they draft 6 instead of 4 and come out of the draft at 74. They need 16 to reach to reach 90, this makes the team likely big players for UDFAs. Should they draft a TE with promise only then could I see them losing Dickson if Dissly is healthy and that is a big if, so he likely stays. Mingo will likely be kept until out played and wasn’t horrible this last season and Brown started to come on at the end of the year. As a result I suspect the team won’t cut him.

It will be an interesting offseason.
