They will not sign any long term deals until the new CBA is completed in 2021.

Schneider talked about how they prioritize the off season, and trying to negotiate players under contract, even Russell is down the list.

1. Offer contracts to UFA's (Clark, Fluker, Sweezy, etc)
2. Possible franchise tag for Clark if he's not signed by the draft
3. Game plan for going after free agents after March 13th
4. Draft

Extensions for players is not a definitive date like these items I listed, it's an ongoing process........so yeah I'm sure both sides have begun extension talks, but it's not going to get serious for a while.

Then there's the who's gonna sign first between Russell and Dak who'll blink first game going on right now, so the other agent has that ammunition.

A dangerous game of chicken. The league year starts in March. So in this scenario, Wilson will play out this contract from March 2019 to March 2020. Then play the 2020 Season on the franchise tag then work on a deal once they know the economics of the 2021 NFL.

You don't think Wilson has a Lloyds of London insurance policy on himself or Ciara one as well......................

they should show him a piece of paper with a number on it and say,"this is how much we're going to spend on you and the O line combined". GO HAWKS!
