Great news Hawk Fans!!!

And, no, the team is not for sale.

General manager John Schneider confirmed Wednesday here at the combine in Indianapolis that his boss, the person at the head of the franchise, is Jody Allen.

“I used to report to Paul,” Schneider said. “And now I report to Jody.
“So it’s just...it’s been hard, but she has been amazing. She’s real responsive. She is into it. She’s aligned. She wants to win.

“It’s been great in that regard.’’

The Seahawks were but a bit part of all Allen did and owned. Any future sale, should Jody Allen or the trustees decide that (and no indications of that currently exist) would not come until after lawyers review all aspects and holdings of Paul Allen’s estate. Given all his varied international, philanthropic interests and formal ventures, such a review of his entire estate could take years.

Allen did an amazing job of making sure all the right people were put into place before he passed, and with the continuity of Pete and John.........we'll be just fine.

In only the few public interviews I've seen Jody Allen do it's very apparent that she knows how much the Hawks meant to Paul and the region, so I don't think she'd do anything to jeopardize that.

Having said this, the REAL test will be after John and/or Pete are gone and possibly guys like Chuck Arnold and Chris McGowan move on.......that's when we'll see how this unique ownership situation works, or doesn't work.

The sign of a healthy company is not when times are good, it's when times are bad or critical, and the right people in charge can make the correct decisions.

It’s comforting to know that this has gone in this direction. Time will reveal true integrity. But that holds true for all things. Let’s hope they can put together a championship run for her.

“We've had great meetings with Jody,” Carroll said Thursday. “I've been so impressed, and her ability to put things in motion in similar fashion. The structure is very similar. We've had really clear sense for that. She will surprise the heck out of you. She is on it. She is aggressive in her approach. She is so mindful of the 12s and the area—it's so dear to her heart that we do a good job to represent and give them everything that they deserve. In time, as you guys get to know her, you are going to see that we are very fortunate that she's taken on the leadership.”

Let's go ahead and add a link to John Boyle's good news article as well in this thread >>> [urltargetblank]https://www.seahawks.com/news/seahawks-in-good-hands-under-leadership-of-jody-allen[/urltargetblank]

This is the story that hopefully sets the Seahawks up for success for the next few decades. Just remember the Redskins that franchised died in 1997 when Jack Kent Cooke died. Let's hope this team avoids a Dan Snyder type.

A Snyder type.

Scary thought.

One of Paul Allen's best traits was that he was mostly a "hands off" owner that hired good people and didn't try to micro-manage the team. Sounds like Jody has that same mindset for now. Not to minimize PA's death, but it looks like he set things up to run smoothly after he was gone.

Paul put a hierarchy in place to over see a lot of things to keep them running well before his passing, Jody has resources she trusts to leverage the knowledge they have that she doesn't have. One of Paul's strengths was bringing in guys that know things he doesn't and learn from them.

Jody also doesn't seem to need limelight or to prove anything, Snyder, Jones in Dallas two examples of people that have huge egos that get in the way of being successful in arenas outside what made them rich to begin with.

Why no coach can succeed in Washington, Bruce Allen is the second problem there, Mini Snyder and why Johnson was never given enough credit for winning in Dallas with everything he put together.
