We,, we *can* win one, but that's a silly statement because there are always going to be circumstances under which any given team could win the Super Bowl. "That's why they play the games," as Rick Berman used to say.
But winning a Super Bowl isn't just about assembling a superior roster and having superior game plans. There are so many aspects which are out of the team's control, such as timing and severity of injuries to key players, or repeated injuries to a single position. Referees making bad calls. Extreme weather events. Even key players' mind-set on the day.
This is not even considering the other 31 teams that are all competing for the same objective in a league designed specifically to promote parity.
However there are some positive things:
We have most parts of the OL returning much improved thanks to Solari's influence.
We know who we are so we're not going to waste weeks early on trying to be who we're not.
Our free agent losses are not so unmanageable that we can't overcome them through normal means.
Our punter and kicker are both all-pro and are both young.
We recovered from the exodus of the Legion and still had an effective defense, now just needing depth.
We continue to get contributions from our undrafted players over the average success rate. The emergence of Poona Ford literally saves us a decent draft pick this year.
