  • Thanks again Maelstrom! It appears they are clearing cap space now to make room for other signings.

  • I suspect this means they will each get a $1.5 mil separation cheque from the team.

  • I agree with all that's being said we need a rushing game that is consistently effective inside or outside otherwise defence against us is simpler

  • Bob Condotta is reporting the Hawks have signed DE- Benson Mayowa. Reported terms 1yr./$3 million/plus incentives of up to $1 M.

  • Today's NFLPA "Public Salary Cap Report" lists the Seahawks cap room at $11,919,646.

Presumably that figure doesn't yet include the announced Benson Mayowa agreement.

It's always fun when cap space begins to tighten up.

  • Unless you want your team to re-sign a star player, or acquire creditable depth at DE.

  • What does that mean? "minimum salary benefit"

It sounds like that's the minimum salary that results in certain benefits to the player.... maybe....?

At that salary level, does that mean this FA signing won't count toward comp pick numbers?

Under the new CBA a veteran minimum contract is pegged at $750 K so Dorsett was actually contracted @ salary of $910 K but is charged against the cap at $750 K.

As you read above he also got a $137.5 K signing bonus.

There is $160 K minimum salary cap benefit to the team.

  • After re-signing CB Neiko Thorpe, the Seahawks have 12 remaining UFAs: DE Jadeveon Clowney, DE Ziggy Ansah, LB Mychal Kendricks, LB Dekoda Watson, CB Akeem King, RB Marshawn Lynch, RB Robert Turbin, RB C.J. Prosise, WR Josh Gordon, WR Jaron Brown, G Mike Iupati, QB Geno Smith.

In Green most likely won't be signed back, Lynch maybe as a guy for a playoff run but not now, He's busy being a bad ass in Westworld.

  • Receiver David Moore and tight end Jacob Hollister both posted signing photos on social media. The Seahawks gave Hollister a second-round tender and Moore an original-round tender.

Friday marked the deadline for restricted free agents to sign an offer sheet with another team. Instead, Hollister and Moore signed their tenders to return to the Seahawks.

  • Step by step things are falling into place. Cool stuff. Can't wait for draft day. That will tell us where we're at far as finishing this process off in the FA market, specifically Clowney, Griffin, or a costly trade with the Jags for Yannick. From my point of view Yannick deal is out of the question.

  • The team signs another reserve OG- Kahlil McKenzie he was here last year on the PS for while. This is OLineman #18 (number corrected) on the roster. It would appear highly unlikely the team will be drafting a G.

  • Yeah when I asked the question I wasn't counting Iupati who has agreed to terms but hasn't signed yet.

Bruce Irvin hasn't actually signed yet it's been a while there.

  • The Hawks draft OG- Damien Lewis, LSU

    Here's his combine profile: https://www.nfl.com/prospects/damien-le ... a24308df66

He's a road grader but he's the 19th OLineman on the roster. I can't see him starting this season either, so I'm quite curious about this pick. He's a solid run blocker and a developmental prospect who could surprise and start early.

  • I will be slow updating the roster with the UDFAs as every year the reporting is initially incorrect/ inaccurate. Once reliable sources report the signings I'll update.

Bob Condotta has reported the league has instructed teams not to confirm their UDFA signings for now.

Yeah JS brought that up when asked about the WSU QB they signed.

  • Thanks SH, I suspect the league may make some formal announcement or have a virtual ceremony to mark these signings, or something. It's another way for the NFL to sell boner pills or whatever.

You've been astute and quick locating the players apparently signed and so far I've seen 14 or more from various sites. This can't be right as there are only 12 spots available. Every year there is some confusion with these announcements. Their are two types of players added at this time of year true UDFA additions and rookie minicamp tryout players, they both get announce at the same time and often players apparently signed here are in fact signed elsewhere.

This will get sorted out quickly.
