Estimate cost of our UFA's

We have a number of FA's this year. What is the expected APY we could expect these players to get on the market and are they worth it.

Clowney - $20m APY
Ifedi - $12m APY
Reed - $8m APY
Fant - $8m APY
Jefferson - $4m APY
Ansah - $4m APY
Kendricks -$3m APY
Procise - $2m APY
Iupati - $2m APY
Woods - $2m APY
Thorpe - $1m APY
Brown - $1m APY
Gordon - ?

-Gordon sign to a no guarantee/must qualify for base + incentive pay. No qualify/no pay

My thinking, but in a sense it is flawed as cap stuff is black magic of sorts, and these APY estimates are rough and ready and fail to take into account structure of contracts:

Clowney - $21m APY
Ifedi - not re-signed, rookie signed or a FA acquired
Reed - $10 m APY is what the team will offer but he will sign elsewhere
Fant - $8 m APY
Jefferson - $6 m APY
Ansah - not re-signed
Kendricks -$5 m APY
Procise - not re-signed
Iupati - $2m APY + non injury bonus incentives
Woods - $2m APY
Thorpe - $1m APY
Brown - not re-signed
Gordon - $2.25 m APY, but like Kendricks deal last season if suspended again his contract is not guaranteed
King- $ 1.5mAPY
Willson- $1.5M

Several of these guys will of course not be signed, or others will replace them.

All the ERFAs are tendered, Simmons, Roos, Neal, Ellerbee, Turner, Boykins, Swoopes, Mone
All the RFAs are tendered at original round (Hunt, Jackson, Moore) except Hollister who is given a 2nd rd. tender, Kalan Reed is not tendered.

Gone are:
Britt- $ 8.5 Million regained.
Dickson- $3 Million regained

Off the top of my head there goes our cap pretty much if we signed
all those players correct?
I must not be assuming the cap will go up right?
However RW and BW's pay goes up too.

There’s an article where it states that Jefferson is projected to be worth roughly 9 per season over the next 4 years. So he’s gonna be expensive. Reed scoffed at what 9/10 mill so he’s gonna be looking to cash in even if it’s with a bad team like Miami. Humphries with the cards just got 15 per and people have said ifedi is probably worth similar. Those guys have probably priced themselves off the team considering we can sign vets that wanna win for half with not much drop off/performance difference.

The cap we have now includes the increases to any players such as Wilson, and Wags. As of now we are still over 54mil

I really want to keep Fant. I have a good feeling about that guy.

We could buy a traffic cone in place of Ifedi and it would a performance upgrade.

I'd add at least $2 mil to each of the first 4 people on your list.

Well if team are willing to pay Ifedi $14-$15m, Reed $10-11, and Jefferson $9m then I think we have a great chance to keep winning because those are not players I would build my team around. We are much better off plugging in some number of cast off FA's in the $2-5M range and hope a few pop while spending big money on a player of two we know will elevate the team. I hate paying big dollars for the average to above average guy. Exactly why there are perennial bottom feeders in this league. Sprinkle in lots of youth with a few aged vet's and we are back in business.

I'd be suprised if Fant is resigned for much more then backup money. For as much as everyone likes him they orginally went with Jamarco to start when Brown went down, he's never been able to beat out Ifedi who everyone hates, and Fant has really never looked that impressive to be honest.

We are talking about what the players will get, not what price the Hawks need to get them for, right?

Ya it feels like Fant has barely played. I don’t think there’s a chance he makes more than 5 mill from us or any team
