He's one hell of a player if he can get himself straight personally. He makes it look very easy. Big strong receiver who rarely drops the ball. And when you need a big 3rd down conversion, he's a hell of an option.

I look forward to seeing him in Seattle for seasons to come. One good off season and time to gel with the WR and create some chemistry with Russ will be a good thing for everyone. Can't wait to see him catching passes for us.

"Unfortunately, Gordon’s inaugural tenure in Seattle didn’t last long as he received his fifth suspension from the league for performance enhancing substance and substance abuse. However, under the newly ratified CBA, there will no longer be marijuana based suspensions in the league."

Now we're talkin'! Game on, Josh!

He also tested positive for other substances, including PEDs.

And as this is suspension number 5, how good are the chances he'll be back?

If he does get to play again and does come back to Seattle our #3WR problem is solved and in a huge way.

Even if Gordon makes it back, he'll be challenged by a draft pick that the team will be making next month in a VERY deep WR class.
They are only successful at the college level (at this point). Gordon has proven his physical ability at the professional level. Besides DK. it's been a long time since we drafted a WR of Gordons strength and skill set.

It will come down to what Roger Goodell wants to do it seems. The new CBA makes marijuana (what his previous suspensions are thought to be for) a non-issue. The PED part of this latest suspension is his first for PED's. That is just a 4 game suspension by rule (they don't combine, they are punished separately). Assuming Goodell honors the new CBA and doesn't keep him suspended by some loophole because he was originally suspended under the old CBA, Gordon should be available to play week 5 vs Miami.

He missed several games last season, right. Wouldn't he get "time served" consideration?

Coukd have been a masking agent for marijuana. I believe that the league treats masking agents as a failed PED

I didn't think of that, and that is a good point. I think you might be right on that. On the radio John Clayton just said he was suspended under the old CBA and until he's reinstated that will hold with the old rules (indefinite suspension). If he is reinstated, then he is immediately under the new CBA rules at that point. Sounds like it'll be up to Goodell and his opinion on Gordon's character. He has given Gordon many 2nd chances... Maybe he has a soft spot for the guy and will reinstate him before the season begins?
