Nick Vannett not happy about his time in Seattle

"I always felt like toward the end of my tenure with the Seahawks, I felt like I was slowly getting kicked to the curb a little bit," Vannett said, via Nicki Jhabvala of The Athletic. "They had another guy, a young guy, they brought in, (Will) Dissly, they were pretty high on and they kind of saw him to be my successor. I don't know, like slowly I feel like they kind of minimized my role, they weren't getting me involved as much. From what I heard, the Steelers were looking for a tight end and they had been trying to make an offer for quite some time, and I think they finally made an offer that the Seahawks couldn't refuse."

I was hoping he'd be better as well. Just didnt seem all that smash mouth at the position.

People are pissed about this on Twitter, too. No idea why.

I really couldn't care less. That's exactly what happened. He isn't speaking negatively of the organization, he's just bummed about how things went for him here.

I'm thinking there is a twitter subculture that insists on being unhappy.

Who thrives and who moves on is a reflection of fit and chemistry.

Yeah Nick Vannett, that is what happens when you're not a good player. You tend to replaced, nothing to blame but your own incompetence.

Looks like that subculture has made its way here, judging by the unnecessarily offended replies.

Look at the difference between Dissly and Vannett, it's not even close. I understand not liking the feeling but at least put some context into the situation, you were a borderline 2nd stringer and then a pro-bowler came in.

For that to have happened he would've had to have been away from the curb at some point, and I'm not sure I remember that.
Otherwise...meh.

He also said he wasn’t happy during his time with the Stealers. He wasn’t happy playing under 2 of the most player-friendly coaches in the NFL. I doubt that Nikki finds happiness in Denver.

If he had spent more time in the weight room and studying film than the clubs he could have been something. I think it's on him.

Sounds like he had a severe case of “Freddy Garcia syndrome”?

I fifth round pick was an offer the Hawks couldn't refuse? Well ok then.

He was a below average player that got beat out. The end

Luke & Hollister are better players...Heck even, Fant was a better TE...

If i remember correctly, he said something about being happiest he ever been when he played for the Stealers...Guy needs to just shut his mouth.
