We raised a total of $380 for .NET this year in the mock draft contest!

    Thanks for participating.

    ORIGINAL POST:

Hello, folks! 5 days until draft time.

In the past, I've done a few mock draft contests on .Net. I thought I'd bring it back this year, with the same rules.

Prize: Bragging rights, and in addition, I will make a $50 donation to the site in your name. If my entry wins, then runner-up gets prize.

    HOW IT WORKS:

You will mock the first round (first 32 selections) of the NFL draft with the Team and Player for each selection. You may include trades. Each selection can earn you up to two points - 1 point for mocking the player at the correct pick, 1 point for mocking the player to the correct team. After your round 1 mock, you also list 20 players that you believe the Seahawks may select in any round. For each player the Seahawks select off your list, you get an additional point. UDFA's off your list that are reported as Seahawks signees by 11:59pm EST on the 26th will earn you 1 point, as well.

Deadline: Noon PST on 4/23/2020 (Day 1 of Draft.) No edits after that point in time!

SCORING EXAMPLE: Let's say the Seahawks trade down to select Josh Uche at pick #30, K'Lavon Chaisson is selected by Atlanta at pick #16, and Josh Jones is selected by Kansas City at pick #32. Here's what you'd get for different mock selections:

2 Points - Seattle: R1/P30: Josh Uche, LB/Edge, Michigan (Right Spot, Right Team)
1 Point - Seattle: R1/P27: Josh Uche, LB/Edge, Michigan (Wrong Spot, Right Team)
1 Point - Seattle: R1/P32: Josh Jones, OT, Houston (Right Spot, Wrong Team)
0 Points - Seattle: R1/P27: K'Lavon Chaisson, LB/Edge, LSU (Wrong Spot, Wrong Team)

Note: You'll get an additional point in all of these scenarios if the player selected is on your 20-prospect list.

Without further ado, you may begin your mocks!

After your round 1 mock, you also list 20 players that you believe the Seahawks may select in any round.
You need to add your 20 players you think could become Seahawks

  • Cool. 1st round was fun. I always enjoy doing it.

I took the donation one step further. I matched it. I just donated another $170 toward Seahawks.net. Here's to a fun year. Go Hawks!

  • I can confirm that ** nwHawk ** has won the contest with 18 points. I'll post everyone's tally below - I apologize for any scoring errors in advance, but I believe I've got everyone's correct.

    nwHawk: 18
    Hawkfan68: 15
    TeamoftheCentury: 15

    Wenhawk: 9
    Me: 9

Congrats to nwHawk! And thank you for that massive matching donation. I will also bump my donation from $50 up to $90, in hopes of summoning Jadeveon Clowney back to Seattle.

That means we've raised a total of $380 for .NET in this years iteration of the Mock Draft contest!

For next year, I'm going to try to get this contest up a bit earlier and try to make it a bigger deal to bolster our fundraising for .NET, and also to have a little additional fun to look forward to for us draft fans.

For those who have not added their donation yet: here's the gofundme link. https://www.gofundme.com/f/keep-seahawksnet-running

    I'll add mine now.

Thank you all for participating and making this a huge success. Until next time!

    Notes:

CDN_C_Hawk: Ignore my request for access to your google drive, I got access to the mock. Was just clicking wrong link.

TeamoftheCentury: Holy crap, dude. You might have the chops to become a Jaguars draft writer. You predicted both their picks exactly correctly, including the trade up to 9 for CJ Henderson. That's a flex right there.

If Hawkfan68, TeamoftheCentury, and CDN_C_Hawk: PM me their addresses I will send them a .Net sticker!
