Many posters here are worried about the pass rush, rightfully so, but the way the defense is current set up, the strength is now in the second and third levels.

The defensive scheme now with the way the defense is built this offseason is to force teams to throw the ball AFTER the run has been completely stopped!

Carroll is going into this season with the idea that the young bodies in addition to his belief in Collier is the pass rush will come from a young and hungry collective whole rather than a single big name star.

Just wait, they have been freeing cap space to sign a RUN STUFFER(S) not a single pass rusher.

It may not be a sexy name player, but look at the bigger picture!

Why did Seattle go faster at linebacker and trade for Adams, the strength of the defense is at the second and third levels.

Carroll wants to stop the run FIRST, not pass rush, and then force teams to throw between the second and third level where the playmakers are.

You heard it here first!

Agree. We need a strong run stuffing 3rd DT to spell Poona and Reed. DOn't think Christmas or Mone are that person. I see an addition in the works.

Otherwise the teams pretty set with the big competitions being at TE, OG, LEO/SAM, Nickel corner.

You can say this every year bro, this isn't fortune telling. Every year they sign a couple run stuffing DTs to add to the roster. But they also will try their best to add more pass rush, this is a yearly thing since PC and JS got here.

You can’t say this every year because this year there is no notable name pass rusher.

It’s a collection of young guys.

I’m telling you, a run stuffer is going to get signed.

At this stage it is clear the FO and defensive staff are happy with playing Mone more. I thought he played acceptably well for a UDFA acquisition. He's a big guy too. Lots of folk have discounted him and written him off which could prove to be short sighted.

I still have a sense the FO is not done with the DLine yet. My thinking may be wishful thinking in the hope there is a player or two out there or a late cut that could fit the team's D who could be added, but the present numbers seem light compared to the past.
