Just curious if anyone has seen anything of Robinson so far in camp. I know he worked out with Avril, so hopefully he learned a few things.

Pete had some good things to say about him in at least his last presser if not his last two. Seemed like he was impressing more than they thought he would out of the gate.

I think it was Dave Wyman that said "I saw this huge player, and thought "who is that DT?"

Turned out it was Alton Robinson.

Alton was a fairly sought after recruit as a High School player, committing to Texas A&M, but he got in to trouble fighting with his g/f and had to take a circuitous route to the NFL.

Character/Off-field Concerns
The only concern here comes from two incidents involving one of Robinson’s ex-girlfriends while he was still in high school. Robinson allegedly stole the girl’s purse and pushed her into a bush when she chased him. In 2016, Robinson was arrested for allegedly stealing the same ex-girlfriend’s phone and charged with second-degree robbery.

That incident led to Robinson ending up at Syracuse rather than Texas A&M. Eventually all charges were dropped due to an uncooperative witness. Since then, Robinson seems to have maintained a clean record. He also appears very well spoken during interviews and presents himself as a knowledgeable young man.

Position: Edge
Height: 6’3″
Weight: 259 pounds

First Step/Burst – Robinson explodes off the line of scrimmage and is capable of getting to the outside edge of opposing tackles before they have a chance to set up and engage properly. He nearly bounces out of his stance and closes ground and distance in a flash.

Leverage – He does an exceptional job of staying low and funnelling power through his legs and into his movement. He keeps his pad level low and is able to hold his own and even win against much bigger opponents.

Good post Ivo.
Looks like Robinson is trying to earn himself a spot, for sure.

Cool, and I like it, but I had to chuckle when I saw ^, cause I've seem him down on his knees a couple times, once against the sled! :)

Sled kicked his butt!

If he had gotten in to Texas A&M, i would wager that his draft value would have been closer to the 2nd round than the 5th.
