Is the fake noise we are hearing only on the TV?

Or

Are they actually playing fake noise in the stadium?

It sucks either way, just curious.

I’m assuming it’s all for the TV audience and not audible to the players.

In the stadium. Troy Aikman just said they are aloud play up to 75db. That's not very loud.

I’m currently watching the the Saints/Bucs

It seems to me that the fake noise is much more in sync with what’s actually happening on the field.

I don’t like the “fake” noise at all but it seems it’s different with each game.
Very possible it’s my perception but it got me to thinking who was responsible.

Broadcast network vs Stadium staff.

It is in the stadium. But at a constant level. So
they hear the same level at all times. So there is no advantage either way.

I expect it to get better, Sit Com audience noise type where they have a soft back ground and when there is a play they can institute a cheer track like a laugh track.

I heard on the Brock and Salk podcast that the individual teams have partnered with NFL Films to get different crowd noise for each one of the team based on what the normal home crowd normally sounds like, different chants and stuff. Id expect to hear the SEA.........HAWKS chant in Seattle.

I'm not sure I liked the fake crowd noise. However, it may be necessary. Could you imagine trying to call in plays without any noise?

There are both types of fake crowd noise going on.

Teams have the option of playing crowd noise over the PA, as long as it is constant throughout the whole game and fairly quiet. It's pretty dumb and I don't think many teams are doing this.

The TV broadcast is also adding fake crowd noise based on a bunch of prerecorded stuff they had been compiling over the last four seasons. I didn't hear too many fake crowd boos on our broadcast, but there were a bunch inserted into the 49ers/Cardinals game. The broadcasts are trying to emulate real NFL crowds but they have seemed pretty phony to me.
