  • I think we have seen the power and accuracy of Wilson...we've seen the speed and toughness and grace of the Seahawk receivers and we have seen the hawks smash mouth in your face running game... If you are Belichick how do you attack the Hawks?

  • Run up the middle and see if Reed, Ford, and Moane can hold up. We are too fast on D for them to stretch the field.

  • Do the Patriots have Gilmore follow specific receivers around? If so, I wonder who they'll put him on, Lockett or Metcalf. On D the front 7 can't let the Pats and Newton run all over the place. I imagine we will see Adams jumping up a lot to help. I know Blair plays the nickel spot but does he have the skill set to stick with Edelmen?

I see a lot of 8 men in the box.

With a stick while they sleep. On a football field in pads, this team is unbeatable.

  • Well, our running game wasn't really tested much against Atlanta, didn't need it.

Sure the Pats have a 'good' pass D, but given Metcalf and Lockett on the outside and Olsen and Dissly in the inside, with Carson and Hyde coming out of the backfield, who is New England going to double team? They may try to counter with pressure, but we know that Russ can play the quick pass when he needs to, we just prefer the slower developing, deeper pass plays.

Perhaps we play a lot of 2TE formation and run a lot of play action. With 2TE, we can shift in and out of max protect when needed, or put 4 in the pattern including 3 big receivers. DK is as big as a TE and isn't just a deep threat and both Olsen and Dissly are capable blockers when called upon. Carson just showed us he can catch, so he or Hyde make for credible outlets and we now seem to have a viable screen game. Hell, we could put up another offensive showcase.

On D, we know Cam fairly well, and with the added speed we have on D to support our veteran LBs in Wags and KJ I think we'll do fine.

Pity we don't have the crowd behind us this game. :(

You can't ever hope to really cover Edelman; best you can hope for is to limit the damage/

Seriously, the chemistry has changed. Edelman will likely still get consistent looks, but I don't think he'll be the force he was combined with Brady.

5 catches for 57 yards last week...

Pete's defense probably won't stop a lot of catches. They do focus on not allowing yards after catch, though. If they tackle well, we should be OK. Cam isn't really known for his accuracy, though. Bobby and KJ should be able to limit the damage he can do with his legs too.

You might ask Ito Smith how it feels attacking the middle. Specifically have a look at 1:56 and 1:35 to go in the 4th.

I agree with everything you said...

I think this is a really important game due to the fact that the Hawks are playing against one of the most brilliant minds in football... The Hawks are going to find out where the weak point in in there D is at least matching up against the pats personnel...

Belichick is smart to use CN to his strengths,so that means the Seahawks D is going to have to be very disciplined to stop that option run game which Im pretty sure they are going to see.. The Hawks should be ok as long as they hold their gaps...It's going to be a really good test for the hawks D line, as I also feel good about the Hawks linebackers...

But like Pete says CN is a extremely accurate passer so I would think they are going to match up with what they perceive to be the weak link in the secondary so Im looking for that...

I dont worry about the Seahawk O... Belichick said himself that they Hawks are very difficult to defend against just for the reasons you said so IMO it comes down to the Hawks having a good game plan and then the execution of that game plan... really, this O is so diverse in the talent they have that there are no weakness in the talent positions so that leaves the O line vs the Pats D line as a key match up... But Wilson is the x factor how long have we been watching Wilson makeup for poor pass protection, well see...

like i said before not really sure how good the Pats are at this point but I think the Hawks will learn about themselves from this game... where they need to improve and IMO that's a key factor for the season...

If the Hawks lose this one which I dont think they will but if they do watch how BS gets the blame..

That's not what I saw last Sunday at all. Beyond Adams, the secondary was a mess.

If I'm Belichick on Sunday, I do whatever I want on offense, and I simply seek a mediocre effort and passable gameplan on defense. Had the Falcons done just that, the game would have looked very different.
