For our Dline? We have the "Boom" for the secondary...but what about the front line?
Not unprecedented.
The Fearsome Foursome
The Purple People Eaters
The Steel Curtain
Our Dline is badass and needs something also......
The Sea Wall...comes to mind...but it doesn't have that "nastiness" to it...any suggestions?

Am I the only one who cringes at these nicknames? Don't get me wrong I love our D but I feel kind of silly every time I hear the legion of boom used. Maybe it's cause I'm old but I don't think a nickname is deserved until the team has actually achieved something and while I have high hopes for the hawks they haven't achieved a thing yet, so please no more bad nicknames.

yeah legion of boom is too wordy and was kind of a forced bob and groz contest call in thing.
Real nick names are just organic. people just ran with 12th man,
This entire D needs a name, just one name and something that is real.

I'm aware of exactly how ridiculous it sounds, because nicknames for teams suck.
Does the 85 Bears defense have a nickname?
Yes
The 85 Bears
We'll never have a better opportunity to take advantage of the 12th man and refer to this defense as "the 12 hawks"

I think nicknames only worked when reporters had pieces of paper sticking out of their fedoras that said "PRESS"
