Bruce Irvin and Zach Miller, perhaps?

Edit: Nope. Both 2015. Should have gotten the right answers, too.

Thanks. Glad to be aboard. Been a lurker for a while and just signed up recently.

And, I now know the answer to my own question is no. I cheated and looked up the real answer but will stay as quiet as a Ram fan during a game at the St. Louis Dome.

I'd say Chris Clemons and Red Bryant.

Or maybe Max Unger.

It's two of those three...

You edited. Jerk.

It is two of those three, and the one that isn't rhymes with Lemons.

Red and Max . . . There's your foundation for the future Seahawks . . .

^^^ Agreed, Max is clearly our best interior OL making it hard to even want to replace him.

I don't understand how the years work on a contract, my guess was Red and Marshawn Lynch. Lynch got a 4 year deal during last offseason. Does the contract start immediately once signed, or by seasons?

I'm assuming we're talking about guaranteed years in which it isn't possible for the player to be a huge cap hit if he is. For example Matt Flynn signed a 3 year contract but front-loaded so he can be cut after year two with little to no cap hit.

We have so many players that are 2014 and 2015 though, and we have to remember that the team can't extend the rookie contracts until after their third year in the league, so that hampers having them signed up long term, since a lot of our best young talent hasn't been in the league for 3 years. I really think our contract situation is in VERY good shape.

it's in good shape but only if we re-sign as many guys as we can early because we can't afford to sign everyone at once.

guys like golden tate need to be re-signed this year if we plan on keeping them long-term. that way we can front-load them vs. this year's cap rather than the next couple.

hence why I don't want to sign any huge free agents if we can help it.
