Ignore the cap.. If you could pick one player from each of the other three NFC West teams to play for the Seahawks next season, who would they be?
(idea stolen from the exact same topic on /r/NFL http://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments/18 ... the_other/)

My picks..

Arizona - Larry Fitzgerald
49'ers - Aldon Smith
Rams - Chris Long

I was almost tempted to swap Smith for Bowman as I'm not sure how Smith would do in a 4-3 as a SAM linebacker but I guess it's a luxury to have :)

I actually just thought of Darnell Docket.. Could he do more at the seahawks than Larry could at this point? hmmm...

With Russell throwing to Larry Fitz it would be hard to lose games.

Taking into account current skill, future potential, and youth, I'd say:

Arizona: Calais Campbell (DE)

San Francisco: Aldon Smith (OLB)

St. Louis: Michael Brockers (DT)

If you plugged those three players into our defense, I don't think you'd have any more holes and this would be a record-setting defense imo.

To either strengthen the Seahawks or weaken the opponent:

Arizona: Fitz
SF: Justin Smith (seems like that defense takes a huge hit without him there)
STL: Janoris Jenkins (Sherm on one side and Jenks on the other? Aw sheeeettt!)

Fitzgerald and long from AZ and STL;

for SF i'm torn between Vernon Davis and Aldon Smith; we could use the OLB. But I'm not sure he's as good vs. the run as we want.

An offense with Fitz, Davis, Tate, and Rice on the field at once would be pretty much unstoppable so your defense wouldn't matter much.

:13: My thoughts exactly. All very good players who, provided they stay healthy, have many more years in front of them.

Arizona: Larry Fitzgerald. We finally have our reliable big-play receiver.
San Francisco: Mike Iupati. The revolving door at RG is finally closed.
St. Louis: Chris Long. A consistent performer on the defensive line to pair with Clemons when he recovers.

I'm going in a whole different direction; instead of trying to better my team, I'm trying to cripple the rest of the division. They'll be our hardest competition all year anyway...

San Fran: I'm taking Kap. But I'm taking him after they trade away or cut Alex Smith. That offense suddenly doesn't look scary anymore with nobody to account for at the QB position.

STL: I'm taking Bradford for the same reason. While Long would make our defense better, the Rams wouldn't score more than 14 points a game with Clemens behind center

Arizona: Well, they've already crippled their QB position on their own so I would probably take Dockett to shore up our line and weaken theirs, though I could just as easily poach Peterson to be a slot CB and heir to Leon's return duties.

I disagree with your thinking on this. First of all, there's no way they'd go into the season with Clemens as the starter, so they'd make a move for a QB anyway. Also, Bradford is decent, but I think he's one of those QBs who is good enough to keep you around .500, but not good enough to make the team a real contender, and too good to allow the team the high pick they need for a better QB.
