I've heard from Jon and the news isn't good. He's hoping to get better treatment soon but is pretty down right now.

I asked if I could pass on information about him to our family and he agreed and said to say hi to all. Please keep him in your thoughts, he's a good guy and I personally miss him.

Good to hear from you! I hope all is well. I've gotten
sicker again
unfortunately. My kidneys started going downhill again, and
then I got
Clostridium Difficile (deadly gut bacterial infection) for
the third time in
a year. The first two almost killed me. This one they caught
early enough to
treat it before I got as bad as last time.

I ended up having to leave my teaching job last month
because the pain and
illness got to be too much unfortunately. I was really
excited that I was
feeling well enough to teach again. I loved teaching. It was
who I am. Then
the illness just took over and I had to give two week's
notice. They begged
me to stay, and I tried so hard. But the inevitable happened
and I quit.
I've been getting sicker and sicker since I've been home. I
don't know why.
Doctors are stumped. I've been on "suicide watch" with my
family for the
last few weeks unfortunately. I don't blame them for being
worried. But it's
the way it goes.

I got to watch the Hawks today. It was great to see them
play and play so
well against the Giants. My wife and kids watched the game
with me and
cheered the team on. We all had a good time and it was
no-stress whatsoever,
which was good!

Say hi to everybody for me. I hope to get feeling better and
that I'm able
to drop in and say hello to the gang. I just don't feel I
have much to offer
because I am so negative about life and I know I have kind
of a reputation
for being a negative naybob anyway, so it's kind of a bad
combo. I wish I
could be myself this season and enjoy it with all of you. I
was supposed to
come to town and watch the Hawks play the Titans, and about
3 days before I
got really really sick, and had to cancel. My wife had to
fly up by herself
for a wedding, and I've been feeling progressively worse
since that weekend.
Not cool.

Jon is only 40 so this kind of thing really sucks.

It sounds like he needs something to occupy him and also get his spirits up.

He was also an active poster and I never found him overly negative, but Radish, pass it along that we'd enjoy seeing him post. I would hope everyone would read this and not jump the guy for anything.

Man, he had to quit teaching again. Just when he got back into it. I'm pissed. Hope he recovers quickly.

Don't know you, but sending good wishes from here too. There's a Super Bowl coming soon that you might be interested in.

Don't know Sharkhawk well except I do recognize the awesome user name. Hang in there man. You sometimes have to go to really dark places to find strength. I believe you will find it. As someone else said, give the docs some time their smart and want to help.

I was really, really happy to see Shark had returned to the fold last year after saying he had to leave for good (the remote control incident).

As always, his input is welcome (and very much appreciated!) and it's very hard to hear one of our family is suffering and having a rough time of it. All my best hopes go in his direction. I've been having a lot of turmoil in my family from one of my adult children (it's been an amazingly rough year), so I can relate to having difficulties while having the best season we've ever seen. At times I almost feel guilty for enjoying it, and at others feel slighted by the universe that so much bad is going on to sometimes distract from that enjoyment. I just have to keep reminding myself to take the joy as it comes and be thankful that it is there this year to distract from life's problems.

Hang in there Sharkhawk....we're all with you in spirit.

Man his email really touched me. Life is so short, and he sounds like a good man. I remember when people were disparaging him after the whole remote control thing. I hope he can pull through. Shark if you read this, don't give up. Easy for someone to say who doesnt know you or your situation, but you got kids and a wife. That alone is worth living for. Godspeed to you.

Warm wishes and get-well thoughts to you, Jon. From the time I first signed up here your posts were among the ones I really looked forward to and enjoyed.

To the bacteria and other nasties: go away, leave him alone.

Hang in there Shark. Wish things were going better for you and the family, every time I think things are picking up for you life keeps dealing you a tough hand. You always seem to fight through it but I know it is wearing on you. My thoughts are with you and your family. I hope the Holidays have good memories awaiting you. Take care my good man.
