Its funny how much "New York" is driving this narrative. Vs the Saints, I really only saw one instance where I thought a Seahawks DB got away with something. Sherman loses inside position and holds Graham's waist to get it back.

I love whiner fans backing their chump of a coach on this. Gonna be awesome if they lose today, what excuse will that sucker have after that happens?

That's the price of popularity. Writers are going to look for anything and everything either positive or negative to write about a successful team.

If you're not one of the "accepted" old school teams there are going to be a lot of upset people so a lot of negative articles.

The sad part about Florio is, he can't even write his own article or a timely one. He takes old news and regurgitates it. His show, ProFootball Talk is pretty mundane too. It's a "I'll set it up and you knock it out of the park" format. There are 2 guys, one setting up a tidbit of info and Florio responding as if he is some kind of expert but instead he's just repeating the same things that are already in print.

They make it look like 2 screens from different locations but I'll be they are in the the same room :p

As for Gilbride, he's old and decrepit and finally retired.

Fans LOVE badass Defensive Backs and always have ever since Lester Hayes and Michael Haynes. Look at the popularity of Darrelle Revis before he got hurt. DBs are the "Knights" that go up against the "Marauding" Wide Receivers who most of the glory. For every hero, there has to be an antitheses. Just look at Megamind and Metroman :p

To be a good CB, in the NFL you have to play right on the edge of being illegal. If you don't, the WRs will eat your lunch and steal your girlfriend before you get your pads strapped on. The Hayes and Haynes comparison, while detestable because they were Raiders, is completely on point. The Seahawks are almost single handedly bringing man/press coverage back to the NFL.

First, when the Patriots were winning SBs, this is what they were saying about that secondary. Too physical.
2nd, Louis Murphy is one of the Giants receivers who showed zero want to in that game, his bags were packed for the off season two weeks early. But somehow he is a valued source for a quote on this subject.

Baghdad Mike can suck it.

And 5 rings is echoing his weak ass whiney Niner coach. If they win today, and they should, prepare yourself for a week of him echoing Kevin Gilbride. And there will be some irony in that, since Harbie himself thought Gilbride less than a man for complaining about the Niners D always holding. And Boldin and Crabtree rely on getting physical with defensive backs to get open.

I love it. As you see, despite this orchestrated media push, the officials didn't change diddly. When other teams and parts of the media band together to create a cheating narrative for you, you know you've arrived. This happens to all good teams.

On Sirius NFL radio yesterday, Pat Kirwan was talking about not only this crap piece from the WS, but a video from the head of NFL officiating instructing yesterday's officials to call games just like they did in the regular season. The head of officials was very concerned that a lack of calls in the wild card round was improper. Thank goodness the secondary played a pretty clean game.

Kirwan was adamant that this kind of micro managing is bad for the game. I agree. New Orleans fan boards are now full of fans referencing this yellow journalism crap to say Seattle pass interfered their way to victory yesterday, confirmation bias at its best.

Watch out in the Superbowl, The league will determine that they will make more money if Manning/Brady win and will tell the refs to call any incidental contact by the Seahawk DBs
