Like many others I didn't win the season ticket Superbowl lottery. I've read that the Seahawks get 17.5% of the Superbowl tickets (approx. 14,000 assuming 80,000 seats at MetLife). I've read here that the season ticket lottery gave out 3000 tickets (1500 pairs). Does anyone know where the rest go? 11,000 tickets to players, front office, sponsors etc... seems like a lot, especially since I've read that the Hawks Lottery in '05/06 was for 11,000 tix.

I would guess that there's a lot of corporate sponsors getting tickets as well.

Good point. I read the % but didn't run the numbers

11 000 tickets to sponsors, players etc and 3 000 to ticketholders is awfully skewed in my mind

The Super Bowl has not been a fan friendly event for years. It is geared toward the corporate types and a token handful of overly-priced tickets are made available to fans, many of whom quickly turn them for profit.

Suite owners were all guaranteed 4 tickets, so that accounts for what, maybe 400 of those?

Who is the "host team" in this case? Do the Jets and the Giants split?

Correct. I have friends who are both Jets & Giants season ticket holders and they all had a chance in the lottery to win Super Bowl tix. nobody I know won but they had a chance.

The General Public 1% is what has caused one person to sue stating that New Yersey law is that 5% has to be made available to general public

Obviously wouldn't be changed for this superbowl but it may be what secures that we don't have to go back there for future superbowls. Goodell will ignore the weather but not lawsuits :D
