Headline: Super Bowl ticket demand down because 'teams are not sexy'

Couple of quotes from the article:

"A lot of our clients are simply saying they don't want to go. They don't want to sit upstairs for $1,200, even if they were given to them at face value, they don't want to pay $800," said Patania.

"If this game was in San Diego or Miami, it would still not be a good ticket because the teams are not sexy. ... You don't have these huge fan bases that you would have if Washington or Dallas or New York or someone else was in it."

If you're waiting for ticket prices to come down to go, you may get your wish.

If this is true then location doesnt matter as much as matchup. New York was supposed to be a boon due to its location near the number 1 media market. If that doesnt matter then it is time to have them meet at the home field for one of the teams. At least there you will have definite interest.

It's pretty sad when the number one offense versus the number one defense isn't "sexy" enough for people.

Washington and Dallas haven't been relevant nor legitimate contenders for two decades and the Owl's done just fine since then. Who comes up with this crap? I think they're just butthurt because two pokey teams from the left coast with minor media markets are in it.

These 'clients' are nothing more than well-off upper-class shmucks that don't know jack about football and only attend because of the social status and business interest involved. Meanwhile, the NFL's main demographic -- the hard working lower and middle class -- can't afford to blow a month's salary on a single damn ticket, let alone all of the travel and accommodation expenses in the most expensive city in the US. If the standard inflation model were still accurate, a single ticket would be $90 today but these greedy a-holes have poured another 1000% on top of that and wonder why they can't sell them? Cry me a frickin' river.

I am 1 micron away from being absolutely done with the NFL.

Price the tickets at a point where real football fans can afford them and this is a non-issue. People who love football love this matchup.
