I thought the guy was a backup at best.

But ever since KJ went out for a few games, he has been a monster.

7th round pick. He was a huge reason why we got to the Super Bowl, and a huge reason we won it.

Hats off to Malcolm, you are the man. I mean, MANNNNNNN

This is the guy that won the game for us vs SF.

His interception sealed the game. He drops that and Kap has several other shots at the end zone.

He didn't get the credit he deserved.

So getting the MVP today was well deserved.

You could just as easily have awarded it to Quinn (the DC) or Avril.

What has he had, like 3 INTs and two for touchdowns...just unreal depth..

So cool how an 'anonymous' member of the LOB won the SB MVP!!!

How fitting.

"You think we got a few ballers on our D, hell, they are ALL ballers"! LOB!

Well deserved SB MVP!!! Especially after the attention was taken away from his NFCCG clinching interception!

Malcolm Smith wins MVP for catching a blown-up pass and running it in for a TD without being challenged? Absurd.

No Skip, you clueless douche. He won it for recovering a fumble, getting a pick six and making ten tackles.

Skip is the only person who gets under my skin enough that I start to wish someone harm, in ways only worthy of another final destination movie.

Good for Smith. He was so shocked in the interviews.

Most Mics he has ever had in front of him. He was NOT used to it.

Good for him

Would've liked to see Avril or Chancellor get the MVP, but Smith is well deserving nonetheless. The man was money during the playoffs.

Avril was a beast, caused that pick 6, Chancellor would be a great choice too, but I was so happy they gave it to Malcolm.
You could probably make a good case for Bennett too. There's a case for Russell, but this win was the D dominating, and so glad they chose a player from that side.

Last time a defensive player won MVP was the '85 Bears. Good company!
Especially happy for Malcolm after he got short shrift attention for his key hustle play to clinch the NFCCG with that pick off Sherm's tip.
He's getting that attention and more now.

Skip should be fired by ESPN for being a complete fricking idiot who know dick about sports. He's the biggest fraud in a network full of frauds.

I thought it was weird at first but I didnt realize he was the one that got the fumble recovery as well. Honestly as much as Wilson balled out tonight smith deserves it. That play changed the game AND he won the game against the niners, not just Sherman.

I told my kids in the 4th quarter they needed to award the MVP to the DEFENSE. This will work too. A backup linebacker earns the MVP. I doubt that happens again. But how many QBs throw 3 TDs with a QBR like Russ and doesn't win the MVP? Never. I just wish Malcom had called the entire team to accept it together. That would have been perfect.
