Do you believe this is the passing of the Torch? Mobile QBs are here to stay. And Russell is now the living proof.
People will no longer throw meaningless stats at the world and say ... "Show me a mobile QB who won the SB".
And Michael Vick will no longer be the poster child of Mobile QBs (or black QBs to put it very clearly. )
Russell didn't make lots of plays with his legs, but he made enough to keep drives alive. And don't get me wrong, Russell is an excellent thrower, but people have always looked at him as a "Running QB".
The NFC has 4 very good running QBs. (CK7, Russell, RGIII and Cam). I'm sure one of them will win again in the next couple of years. I just don't think the AFC is capable of competing with the NFC.
I'm glad Seattle was a pioneer and showed the world ... it works, when done right.
Congrats to Russell. Maybe it is time for Brady, Manning, ... etc to take a bow.
