Texas A&M seems to be very unhappy with all of the attention that Seattle’s “12th Man” has been getting the past few weeks. The athletics program has taken multiple shots at the Seahawks, claiming that Kyle Field is the true “home of the 12th Man”. Sunday, just before the start of the Super Bowl, the Aggies fired one more on Instagram.

Yes, they were the original... if you don't count University of Iowa.

The Aggies made a bunch of noise about this during our last SB season as well. They chilled when challenged by PA.

Anyone that has had the misfortune of spending any time in Texas understands the Aggies are the butt of every joke down there. "How many Aggies does it take to...." type stuff. So they're earning that semi-tard reputation with all of this bellyaching about nada.

FFS..."12th man"? Appointing that name to the fan base of an 11 man football team wasn't exactly a stroke of genius. In fact, It's practically generic ...much in the way golf course bars are frequently dubbed The 19th hole.

Frikin' Aggies.

If they knew what was good for them, they would wait to raise the issue until they are relevant in the sporting world. This just makes them look like they're grasping for headlines.

The settlement from 2006 had the Seahawks paying aTm an initial lump of $100k and then $5k per year for 5 years, and apparently that was renewed in 2011 for 5 more. Some speculation that the Aggie will be able to extort more at that point, but I think Paul Allen can probably afford it.

The funny part is....have you watched an aTm home game on tv lately?? It's weak. Our 12s are louder on the road than the crowd down at College Station.

This reminds of the line from Office Space. "Why should I change my name? He's the one who sucks!"

This is like arguing over who started "the wave" at sporting events. So many variations out there. The Olympics? A hockey game? A college football game? But of course we all know it started at Seahawks home games in the old Kingdome.

Actually I think it was at UW before the Kingdome.

They should just consider themselves the minor league 12th man. We up here in the Professional ranks can be the Pro 12th man.

If they won more often, they might have some beef. If their 12th man was more relevant (impacting the game), they might have more beef.

They didn't really care until the the Hawk's 12th Man stepped up to show how it's done and the team thumped opponents on the field.

Actually it started at Husky stadium at Husky games then that guy who use to organize cheers across the stadium in the Kingdome picked it up and used it at the Dome.
