@KevinShockey
.@Tim_McManus says "one team that has been suggested (as destination for DeSean Jackson) is the Seahawks."

Hmm...

Tim McManus is a Philly radio guy and Eagles beat reporter. Kevin Shockey works for KJR. Here is Shockey's opinion:

@KevinShockey
I don't think there is any chance Seattle goes after DJacc. @Tim_McManus is good reporter and might have heard that, but no chance

Of course, DeSean himself adds to the conspiracy by tweeting this today:

@DeseanJackson10
High school days !! Recruiting heavy was Coach Carroll !! Came 2 Lb Recruit one of the best coming… http://instagram.com/p/l0af_DuNg8/

Totally far fetched in my opinion. Seems like it would be nearly impossible to pay Harvin and Jackson going forward given the mega extensions looming for key Seahawks. Plus DeSean is another little guy. But hey, one thing we do know is that PC does seem to love the guys that he recruited (and may have missed out on) that went on to be NFL stars. Interesting to think about what the offense would look like with Percy and DeSean running around in it though...

Hell no, should have given the money to Tate, he's way better than Jackson.

Just thought I would get that out of the way, before any golden fan said it.

I just don't see it. Another short receiver who would earn the same as Percy. Plus more draft picks trading away at a time where we need as many cheap rookie contracts as possible with the looming extensions coming up. I don't see it at all.

Hard to know if this McManus guy was just thinking "hey the seahawks aren't afraid to make a big trade, maybe they would trade for DeSean" or if he actually heard something as part of his duties as a beat reporter.

Won't happen without a major restructure to his contract. He is owed 10.5 million in base salary next year. You'd have close to 22 million in base salary alone in 2014 towards two receivers on a run first team that already cut Sidney Rice and didn't offer Tate enough to keep.

I am pretty sure Carroll recruits everyone in the league at all times.

Then JS shows people the contracts.

I will put my money on him being a Jet before too long, especially since Vick just signed there. They are good buddies, and I know he will lobby for it. They already have reported interest. Just cannot see a scenario where we will pay him that kind of money, although I do love him as a player. They just relieved a lot of cap from that position, don't think they wanna tread back and put the money back at that position.

Nah, he might want to come here, but I don't see this one happening.
They could get more than the Hawks will give up to get him.
Besides, he's kind of proven to be a one trick pony.

Ridiculous no way we pay that contract or give up draft capital. Though we may be in it purely to drive the price up for San Francisco.

I don't think you can call him a one trick pony considering his skill as a WR and a punt returner.

I wouldn't be surprised if Desean Jackson ends up a Seahawk some day. Just not right now.

Jackson is much more talented that Tate.

Maybe at running a go route. That's about it.

No!

I don't want any remotely expensive acquisitions for the rest of the free agency period. I'd even be fine with no Jared Allen. Extend Earl & Sherman! :)

If Carolina doesn't trade for him, I don't know what's right in this world.
