Pryor as our Read Option/Wildcat changeup?

Watching Pryor's college and pro highlights you can see what a unique running threat he is in the read option and empty sets. Although RW has proven to be just as good running the read option there have been times last year when RW chose not to keep it and missed opportunities for yardage because he is too valuable to risk injury. RW was hit on several read option plays last year when he merely motioned forward after handing off and this year more teams will be looking to get him out of the game at every opportunity. Well, Pryor can exploit defenses in limited read option plays because he is more expendable and more physically gifted. Pryor can test the defense with his speed and his brawn. RW can continue to frustrate them with his great decision making and scrambling thus saving his ribs and arms from repeated hits unlike last year.
The genius of this is when defenders get lulled into thinking Pryor is THE wildcat/read option threat and begin to relax on RW who may now be viewed as our premiere pocket passer. Suddenly RW explodes for 30 yards off a read option keeper from the weakside when they least expect it. Like candy from a baby folks!
Sorry if this was already discussed. Any thoughts?

So we're taking our franchise, Super Bowl winning quarterback out of the game? I don't think so. Also, good luck selling that to RW. Dude gets pissed when T Jack goes in up 50.

How about using him a few plays per game in the read option which count toward our run plays. RW doesn't necessarily need to be in on every read option play I would think.

Part of what helps the read option be successful especially in the NFL is the surprise aspect of, "they could pull it out at any time" (and the reverse of defenses having to keep honest and stay in position to stop it even on non-read option plays). Taking out the QB in that situation completely nullifies that advantage and allows teams to cheat again instead of having to play our offense straight up. That's why the wildcat doesn't work anymore in the NFL. You don't see many teams direct snapping to their RB anymore do you? Because NFL defenses started looking for it and if they saw the RB getting ready to snap the ball they cheated and sent more guys up to stop it. The only time you see the wildcat now is as a random sort of "trick play" when they try to get it off fast before the defense notices and catch them on their heels.

I have never been a fan of special replacements on specific plays. I think it's foolish to give the other team any kind of advantages like that. Why tip the other team off to what you're about to do?

I am hoping the plan would be to either convert him to wide receiver or use him like Kordell Stewart (kind of like a multi position weapon).

Yeah this worked real well when the Jets put in Tebow for Sanchez to run these type of plays. There is no way they would interrupt the flow of Wilson's game to do something like this.

Give up on the wildcat. Seriously. Anything that takes wilson out of the game is bad. This ain't madden.

For those people who feel this is a deeeeeeep draft, trading a draft pick for someone who won't likely be on your roster in less than a year should dampen that notion.

It would be a waste to use Pryor as a wildcat. He is too good of an athlete and RW is too good of a QB for that. Pryor can be used is a lot of ways but replacing RW on the field isn't one of them. IMHO.

Anyone remember how awful the Jets strategy of putting Tebow/Sanchez out there on rotation was?
