Norwood's injury (now being reported as a bone spur)

Apparently it's worse than we thought according to Clayton he might have to go on IR this year not a good way to start.
Now we still don't know the severity of it and he might be fine but he was having problems in OTA's as well so whatever is going on with him isn't healing well. They lost Tate and Rice, Richardson is an unknown , if something happens to Percy Harvin suddenly our receiver corp doesn't look that great. We'll have a better idea of what's going on Thursday I'm not worried yet but I'm getting concerned . Hopefully Bates ,Lockette and Matthews can show us something in Denver we need quality depth.

Bummer. Was looking forward to seeing how the position shook out with all of these guys competing.

Glad to hear that Bates is such a standout so far however. I like the idea of having a bigger guy that can go up and fight for a ball in the red zone. We had such a drop off in red zone completion percentage later in the season last year. Can't help but feel like losing Sidney really hurt us from that standpoint.

Seems like every injury we get this year is season ending.

710 about an hour ago. Like I said though we don't know the exact nature of the injury or the severity but Clayton did say shutting him down for the year is a possibility . He's not practicing and Pete said Sat he doesn't know when he will be back so there's some smoke here.

Pete need a to reduce the tempo of practices a bit imo.

That has nothing to do with it. Norwood hasn't practiced since the first day of camp.

Looks like Bates will step in this year then. Wilson stated he will be the next receiver to step to the front. Maybe a redshirt year for Norwood would be good for him. Get fixed, heal up and get yer under the belt.

Man, I thought that of our two rookie WRs, Norwood was most ready to contribute right now. I sure hope the news about his injury is better than it sounds.

Practice tempo has nothing to do with a guy who has an old injury from high school that just flared up again.

Very true. I have an appt to have my foot checked for severe shooting pain off and on. I had a bunion removed 14 years ago and now have arthritis and some other stuff going on in it.

I don't mind the reaction considering all our proven WR veterans other than DB are:

A) Retired - Rice
B) Playing for the Lions - Tate
C) Was out for a large majority of the season last year. - Harvin

I agree, IF Harvin can stay on the field. With Tate every time he took a big hit, I wasn't too worried about him not getting up. With Harvin...well was the SB the only game he played that he didn't leave injured? that's 1/3.
