Hey guys!

Yesterday some guys were talking about the TD celebration by Lockette and the Channel 83 references... but i don't get it

I believe that is his nickname, since his number is 83

He called himself Channel 83 on the RRR when he was a rookie.

In the pre-cable days there were two television bands, VHF was channels 2 thru 13 and UHF was channels 14 thru 83. So the highest channel was 83. Perhaps it's a play on that.

As a kid I've only watched channel 4,7,9,11, and 13 on our old tv, wonder what was playing on channel 83 at the time
