Rules Below

Since we do a prediction thread every week, I figure why not make a game out of it, to see how accurate we are as a fan base. A correct pick gets you 25 points and then you get 35 points for an exact score (25 + Bonus 10) 1 point off gets 24 points, 2 points off 23 points, 3 points off 22 points, etc. etc.

25 points for a correct pick
0 points for an incorrect pick
+
50 points for exact score. (Bonus +25)
24 points for 1 point off
23 points for 2 points off
22 points for 3 points off
etc.

Correct score:
Seahawks: 36
Packers: 16

NFS said:

Correct pick (25 points)
5 point difference (20 points)
Total = 45

Since there are so many participants I will only record the top 10 places as seen below, meaning if you did not finish in the top 10 your score will not be counted, unless you're the loser of the week, which I will announce shortly.

Wow this is a great idea! I'm assuming there will be a running season total and rankings to go along with the weekly winners?

Also, am I understanding the math right that the highest score is 60? 25 for the correct score plus 10 bonus for having the correct score plus 25 points minus no penalty of points difference?

And maybe the tiebreaker could be who's closest to their season win prediction at the end of the year. Anyway, what a fun way to comPETE with our weekly predictions!

There will be a weekly winner, as well as an updated tally for the season. Keep in mind points will only be awarded for finishing a week in the top 10 of the standings.

Ex.
Roland Week 1: 47 points
Roland Week 2: 32 points (Lets assume not ranked, so points are NOT counted)
Roland Week 3: 45 points (Lets assume 5th place on the leaderboard, points counted)
Roland Week 4: 36 points (Not on the leaderboard, no points)

After four weeks Roland's total = 92 points (Week 1,+Week 3)

The only reason I'm not counting entire points, is because of the large number of participants on the board, calculating 10 places and approximately 40 scores should be enough for now. It also make sense because you only get points for being accurate.

Keep in mind if your score is predicted exactly there is a bonus tally, as listed above.

What is the prize if we win?

Prizes haven't been determined, we will see how the first few weeks do and go from there. I might decide to do something at the end of the season. or perhaps the mods can decide to do something, If nothing else the pride of being accurate and being the best Seahawk fan at picking scores.
