Just rechecked the box score and sure enough a blocked field goal is recorded there.

Well that explains it. I couldn't believe Hausch-money would miss one that length without some mitigating factor.

Looks like he just got a finger or two on the side of the ball; enough to deflect its trajectory. You can see it going from vertical end-over-end to an angled rotation right after Pot Roast appears to touch it.

Are blocked FG recorded different stat wise? Is Hausch-money still perfect on the year with a block or is he 99% or whatever the stat would be...

It counts as an unsuccessful attempt.

My faith, though it hardly wavered, has been fully restored now knowing that FG was tipped. That's the first kick of his in about 3 years that was ugly. Now, it makes sense

It screws kickers over the same way interceptions that were tips by a receiver screws over quarterbacks.

I've sometimes wondered if we need to try and implement an error system of some kind into football to try and assign blame to the proper quarters for certain things, but the way the game is played seems ill-suited to that idea.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

They showed a close up of his feet on the kick and it was also evident that his plant foot slipped.

That blocker on the Roast should have pushed on him and not let him just reach over for the block.
