I don't see any released players yet to get the roster down for Pinkins so I'm guessing we get a temporary roster exemption for him.

Yes. Seahawks.com indicated he's not currently counting towards the 53.

Given how raw he is and the fact Simon, Lane and Maxwell should all be back in 3 weeks.. highly doubt he sees the active roster.
