It should be noted there is still one practice squad position available.

:sarcasm_on: Does Davis Hsu know if this guys has beef with Russell yet? Dont want anymore locker room trouble from our QB.

Rams Released Austin Pettis

The 6-foot-3, 203-pound Pettis is a good athlete who showed promise at times but never quite lived up to what the Rams thought they were getting when they drafted him. This year Pettis has 12 catches for 118 yards and one touchdown.

Pettis has contributed enough, both on offense and on special teams as a punt and kickoff returner, that it wouldn’t be surprising to see some other team claim him on waivers tomorrow. But in St. Louis, he’s finished

Wonder if there is any interest in this guy..

LOL

If he is a linebacker, quarterbacks should be his quarry. LJ Fort was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Browns. I find these on going connections to the Browns curious.

Pettis sucks.... if he was any good he'll still be a Ram. He's worse than Walters.

Interesting...Greg Jones has been in the league for a long time. He was the lead blocker for Jones-Drew with the Jags, then for Arian Foster with Texans, and most recently was with the Saints in training camp this year. He got cut right before the season. http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/1668/greg-jones

This is an article from March 2013 about Texans signing Greg Jones. Gives more background on him -
http://blog.chron.com/ultimatetexans/2013/03/texans-sign-fullback-greg-jones-to-a-1-year-deal/

One of the cool things mentioned in the article is that he says he loves to take on DEs, one on one and doesn't shy away from the contact. Exactly what's needed as a blocker here.

It's nice to see they are addressing the hole at FB and looking at vet options there.

What ... Really do you think Sam could possibly fix our pass rush? Really?

She might, I don't. But still probably would be better than Irvin. You know because he has done absolutely nothing, other than rookie year.

I like it. He can't be any more of a distraction that Percy has been, and me need rushers. If he can't hack it, then nothing lost, but nothing ventured, nothing gained.....

That's a bit misleading as they moved him to SAM and hadn't asked him to rush the passer last year when you have Clemmons, Bennett and Avril.
