Please excuse the rambling I'm about to do.
Some of you may remember that I drink MakersMark. I tried desperately to locate and obtain a bottle with the SeaHawk colors. Living in Texas this just wasn't going to happen without some help. Those bottles were very limited and only sold regionally.
Several of my .net family made an effort to get me one to no avail.
Les "The Radish" went above and beyond trying to get his hands on a bottle for me. His daughter even is in the business, and he couldn't make it happen. I'd did get a note from him that said he had been gifted a bottle that he'd like to let me have, but because of the circumstances he just couldn't.
Most here already know that Les was a man among men, a friend to many.
We lost Les, and it was indeed a very sad day, Seahawks.net hasn't been the same and IMHO won't ever be.
Now I'm not sure how she knew about all this but Mrs.Radish (Darlene) contacted me, not long after Les's passing and asked if I was the guy that Les was trying to find the bottle of MakersMark for?
I'm getting the watery eyes now.
We spoke for a good while and have spoken a few time since but she asked if I would like to have the bottle that belonged to Les. Those of you that knew Les and know me, can only begin to imagine how I felt and the emotions that were running through me.
I've waited a while to tell this story because I felt better letting some time pass.
I have my Seahawks colored bottle of MakersMark.
I have been humbled and HONORED.
