  • Just right off the bat, all Hawkstorian's tables in the numbers thread are less than cosmetically perfect. But just so. I'm using Chrome on Windows 7.

They look fine to me, and I'm also using Chrome on Windows 7. To what specifically are you referring? They're lined up and appear to be correctly formatted, and they are a different color than the rest of the post.

  • Also, it looks like embedding pictures is going to be a lot different with this version. It'll cut out all but the top left corner, which is annoying. However, you can click on the picture and bring it up as a popout image, which is nice.

  • I notice that some people's avatars no longer have the correct aspect ratio, yours included, Anguish. Can that be fixed by uploading the avatar image again?

Compare your source one to what's on your posts now to see what I mean:

  • It's differences in how images are handled. All images now have a width and height row in the database when it is stored so that image re-sizing can be done. Any image that existed before the addition of the attributes in the database are getting erroneous width and height added to them by the code that is watching for the need to re-size. Uploading the image again should solve the issue.

Now that I've added the correct attributes in the database rows to my avatar, all is fine.

  • I just did a quick test on this post... It appears that anything you start to comment on and then back out of by clicking on another area of the forum is then represented as a thread you have commented on with the white hue replacing green

I think that just means a thread you've read, not commented on. When you comment on a thread there will be a little dot on the upper right corner of the feather.

And by "little" you mean "the size of a pin head." That really needs to change. Either a much bigger dot, or better yet, a little person icon overlaid on the standard icon.

Edit: the "locked" icon also needs to be much larger. It's nearly invisible as well, and quite easy to miss.

  • Also, the "Author" column for the threads needs to be wider. Some of the longer usernames get cut off.

If you turn the Feather clockwise 90 degrees it could be a representation of a mouth/commented icon...

  • The little buttons that jump to the last unread post in a thread seem to be somewhat unreliable. Sometimes they go to the last post unread, and sometimes they appear to simply navigate to the last post of the thread, no matter if there are multiple posts unread above it.

Which one? They both seem to work flawlessly for me when not in a Global Announcement, which was already acknowledged to having a bug with the 'first unread' anchor...

I know - which is why I said it seems to be. I'm sure there's a pattern; haven't seen it yet. I guess ignore it unless/until I can pinpoint a cause.

  • Sailor, I think I've figured out why the jump to last unread button seems to not work sometimes. If you view the final page of that thread normally, like clicking the title of it if it's a one-page thread or clicking the page 2 or page 3 link, etc., then there are no unread replies in it according to the forum itself for you, so the #unread hash in the URL just doesn't skip you down. Out of habit/not paying attention I still occasionally click a thread title or page number and not the last unread icon, which then marks it as read essentially so even if I immediately hit back in the browser and click the last unread icon, it won't jump down.

I'd still think the function should put you at the very bottom of the page if there are no unread replies instead of just keeping you at the top, though. Perhaps that can be changed?

  • THIS.

This feature was working as designed just after the launching of the new site, by taking you to the last read post in a thread assuming you are logged on to your account and now it is not working., or by clicking on the little red button on the left of the thread title assuming it's there if there are new posts.

Still much better than before, but I wish the stadium stands would always stay in the current screen or just maybe duplicate them to the end of the page?

Thanks for all the hard work guys.

    GO HAWKS!!!

  • for me the new theme has nothing to signify I posted in a thread, the red dot doesn't correlate to where I've posted.
