  • Rest in peace my friend.

My email in box will never be the same.
    As will Seahawks. Net.

I have sent Rock a PM asking that he set up the donations again as he did for gifts when Les was in the hospital.
We could send flowers and anything extra could go to Darlene or their favorite charity in Les's name.
I'm not confident that Rock will see the PM, if you have direct access to Rock, please forward this idea to him.

Yes, this needs to be done.

OMG, I'm tearing up as I type this, my heart is very heavy!
Les was one of the good guys that kept all of us goofballs in line, I just got a friendly PM a couple of days ago telling me to watch it as I was getting close to crossing the line in one thread but he had great tact. Always respected him and considered him a friend here. I've never seen someone with such a welcoming presence on any message board - forum.

His presence here will be greatly missed. I think one thing we can all take solace in is he finally got to see his team win the Super Bowl, and he will have the best seat in the house when we repeat!

My thoughts and prayers go out to Darlene and his friends and family,
Les we will miss you buddy, save me a lane up there at Heaven's bowl.
    RIP and Godspeed Les!

  • :les: I haven't been much a part of this community the last couple of years, mostly due to a ridiculous amount of health problems and surgeries, and illnesses.

Les talked me through alot of tough times and those illnesses. I feel like he was the type who, even if he barely knew you, or only knew you through the internet, he gave a damn about you. He helped me through a particularly rough post OP where I was considering giving up. I'll miss the PM's back and forth.

THe world needs MORE like him, not less. RIP Damnit, we lost an all time great today.

  • Les absolutely cherished Dachsund dogs. They had several through the years and they were no less family to him than his kids. I don't know about a particular charity but I found this that I am quite sure Les would approve.

  • What can one say about someone so special, giving, understanding that they can impact the lives of so many different and diverse kinds of people in the best of ways. Part Teddy Bear and Santa Claus, Dr. Ruth, with the humor of Jonathan Winters and Rodney Dangerfield. As giving and patient man that I ever had the pleasure to speak and correspond with, we had planned to meet a few times but life never allowed it to happen. Talked in PM's, in the forums and on the phone many times over the years going back to 1998. We really got to know each other closely when Darlene had her medical problems and he was reaching out to understand and in his way need a shoulder for once as he has been the Rock for so many to lean on in times of need.

He is and was as good of friend as anyone could have whether I seen him in person or not, and I will remember him as a friend. This doesn't even cover the times he has supported me and had my back as a board member in whatever iteration we have been in since 98/99, I really became active in the Fanstop days, and he was always there.

Pithy, say hello to Chienell, you both were such great and generous people, I know you must have season tickets side by side in the sky to watch the game.

My thoughts and prayers to Darlene and the rest of the family, nobody has the words to express in any real terms your loss and the space that can not be filled.

Les, my friend and fellow staff member and conscience of this board, Thank you for allowing me time in your life and bringing sunshine, reason and happy thoughts always. RIP

  • This saddens me so much. I can't believe I've been talking to Les on here for over 12 years. He was one of the first guys on .NET to really go out of his way to be friendly to me and he seemed to genuinely care about me, my family, and my life outside of a football forum. He would send me PMs from time to time just to say hi and see how I was. He was a great guy and I will miss him.

I am so glad that he got to see the Hawks win a championship.

Dang. I'll miss him so much. :les:

  • Every time I opened up my email I would see that a PM was sent to me from The Radish I always got worried thinking "what did I say?" Les is gonna scold me or rip me a new one only to find that he wanted to talk about cars, motorcycles, boxing or tell me jokes. My last PM from him was Sept 11 at around 1pm. I've got most of the PMs saved from him. I'll for sure never delete them.

He was a friend, a father, a grandpa, a husband, a man and just as importantly he was OUR 12th man.

Tears are shed for you today Les. You will be greatly missed by all. RIP
