49ers officially eliminated from playoff contention

You were a worthy opponent today, and you didn't stop battling even with all the injuries and distractions. For that, I have great respect for your team.

We faced a very similar scenario in 2011, when we lost to you guys twice in similar fashion. It would be smart to give your coach a long term extension with the terms he is looking for, but (un)fortunately, your ownership doesn't appear to be that smart. Good luck, sort of.

Thanks and yes our season is done and I am glad that its finally over. It's been a hellhole of a season as far as injuries, suspensions/arrests, and media attention. Hopefully we can keep Jim Harbaugh and keep the rivalry going in 2015.

We have now won three straight against the 49ers, five of the last six, with four of those wins by at least 10 points.

All-time record against 49ers improves to 18-15.

Carroll's record against Harbaugh improves to 5-4 in the NFL and is now tied 6-6 if you include college.

If Dallas loses to Philly tonight, we control our own destiny for home field advantage.

So Jimmy will be interviewing with Michigan Monday?
