I would love to have Red back. The team would too I bet. Take him a hair over the league minimum, let him retire a Hawk after a year. I think he would do well in our more beefed up rotation with Williams, Hill, and the rest of the gang.

Sure if it's to retire a Seahawk in the first game. Great leader, the team and fans love him, but there's a reason his snaps were way down by the end of his last year with us. We don't need a lineman who is only good at run defense anymore and by now he probably isn't great at that either.

We don't need a good run D? Why? Work him into the rotation, limit his snap count, keep him fresh, I think he'd be quite effective for another year. Let him go out in a blaze of glory

Red seems to be an awesome leader, vocal on the field, and a massive human being. I'm sure they can figure out a way to have him bolster the defense. Red was one of my favorite Seahawks and I would love to see him come back.

can never have enough BIG bodies on the D-Line. even if just to provide depth I would love to see him back.

It's a feel-good idea, and I'm for that, but is there a spot for him and can he still play? IF the answers to these questions are yes then it's certainly worth a look.

I agree with this, and if John and Pete feel it's doable then I'd love it, but if not, I sincerely hope that when he's ready to retire, that we sign him to a one day retirement deal so he can retire a Seahawk.

Because we have other linemen who are good at both run and passing defense. Red is one dimensional. His sole purpose was to clog up one side of the line in running situations. When teams passed with him out there, the only pressure we got was from Clem. At this point in his career he doesn't bring anything to the defensive line that we don't have. He definitely wouldn't start over anyone in our base defense and can't be brought in on passing downs.

Don't get me wrong, I love Red and everything he did from a leadership standpoint. Dude was the heart of our defense before Kam and Earl stepped up. Would be awesome for him to retire a Hawk.

I think the Hawks would like to get back to something closer to the d-line rotation they had two years ago. That doesn't mean bringing back the exact same guys, but I disagree with the idea that there's not a spot for a situational run stopper beyond Kevin Williams.

I just think with the additional help we have on the ends now with Bennett and Avril, and a good rotation with Hill, Mebane, Williams and McDaniel, he could turn into a specialist and bring some of that leadership back. I'm certainly not saying give him an every down role, but if he'll take reduced pay, let's bring him on because he's that big of a leader. After losing Miller, and now Unger, it might do the guys good. And I think he could be an excellent tutor to Hill, Marsh and some of the younger guys

Defense is predominantly a young man's game and Red is no longer a young man (in football terms).

And how many downs/snaps would he get?... answer: not many at all.

Pass on a very good former Seahawk and a great person/teammate/leader.

what scares me is that the Jacksonville Jaguars cut him.......... maybe they tried to resign him for less and he wouldn't take it but still this is the Jacksonville team we are talking about.

They cut him because he wasn't worth 4.5 mil per year. If he is worth 1.5-2 mil, I vote we can pay him that and add him to the rotation. He is (was) scary when teams try and kick field goals. The loss of Mebane and Hill really hurt us (at least it scared me) at the end of last year.

He's a leader and the guys look up to him and respect him. If the price is right, bring him back. I'm sure the big guy still has some fight in him.
