That was probably the biggest splash the Pats will make in FA. This will help stretch the field. Patriots are trying to live up to their end of the rematch next year in SF.

PFF has a preview today of what Johnson brings to the Chargers' receiving corps.

Johnson was traded to the 49ers prior to the 2014 season, yet the team seemed unsure how to use him. He played just 305 snaps all season as he shared the number three receiver role with Brandon Lloyd. However, despite the low snap count, Johnson still excelled in his role finishing the season with a +6.6 receiving grade. That was the 17th best receiving grade posted in 2014, and every player above Johnson saw at least double his playing time . . . .

Teaming up with Philip Rivers pairs Johnson with the best quarterback he has ever had. So long as Johnson and Rivers are quick to get on the same page, Johnson’s unique and weird route running should become a strength for the Chargers.

According to niners land last year this was the guy that was going to lead them back to the promised land.
What happened? Was it failure on SJ's part, the QB's failure or failure of the head coach??????

A semi-serious question.

Sheesh you're trying hard. :)

He was a very effective WR3 who split time with Brandon Lloyd until he got injured.

Not surprised he wasn't back at his salary (he'd be behind Boldin and Smith in the same role as last year), but he's a nice piece for the chargers, assuming he starts opposite Allen (or even as a #3 again; he's making 1/3rd of what he made last year from his Buffalo deal).

If you don't like my posts you don't have to read them.
Thanks for kind of answering my question. :)

Well, he cannot skip over what is right in front of his face. You are a moderator and therefore your posts cannot be blocked. Kind of a dumb statement from you as well.

That is like telling a carnivore not to eat a steak that is in front of them.

No one is forcing anyone to read or post anything. If that is a dumb statement in your opinion, then so be it, life goes on. :th2thumbs:

Every receiver the niners sign is going to get them over the hump. Niner fans just don't know where the hump is.
