I didn't see a thread about Evan Mathis so excuse this if there is.
If Philly does release him the Hawks should be all over it. I'm not really into going after aging vets but theres a need and he graded out very high the last two seasons so dude still has game and I'm sure wouldn't mind chasing a ring.

Here's the link. He's making $6.5 million and he thinks he's underpaid and wants a new contract. The Eagles think he's overpaid and want to get rid of him. No doubt he's one of the best guards in the league and is familiar with a zone blocking scheme so he would be a great addition, but can we afford him? I can't really envision him coming in on a short team friendly deal. More likely he's gonna get paid by one of the doormats like the Jags or Raiders who have money to burn but having trouble finding somebody to take it.

Would be awesome if Mathis is released and the Hawks nab him plus Chris Myers....could we have one of the better O-Lines in the league? 2 mill can be freed up by releasing Kearse but even then we probably still cant afford him.
