One source said the discipline is expected to be “severe.”

Not exactly the best start for DQ. I think Falcons getting punished for the crowd noise ordeal and the Browns are being punished for the texting situation.

Yeah that's terrible to do, Glad that deflating balls and trying to purposely confuse officials and not adhering to concussion protocol is ok though.

Beat me to it. Been saying it for years, if you are "a legacy team" you play under a different set of rules most of the time.

Oh that stuff? We'll just make new rules to address it, no need in penalizing the Almighty Patriots for bringing these deficiencies in our rules to our attention! :?

Yeah, no kidding. How can you obviously make a rule that addresses a subject, but then not even acknowledge that a team just blatantly ignored said issue ? The only reason it pisses me off is that we adhered to that issue and lost Avril, which was a total competitive disadvantage. Once Cliff went out, Brady might as well have pitched a cot back there. Barely had to move his feet.

The Browns and Falcons are getting punished because there is definitive proof of their wrongdoings. It's a much higher standard than the players are held to (and it's not even close), which is the bigger injustice, IMO.

The Falcons notified the league of what they were doing, and Shanahan ratted out the Browns as part of a strategy to be let out of his contract. If anything, punishing the Browns is a little silly, as getting nuisance texts from the GM during the game most definitely was not a competitive advantage.

I'm with you. Can we please stop doing that?

You guys might have a had a chance in a pre-twitter world, but with news being routinely broken on twitter, you'll have to come up with a way to signal that something is a scandal in four characters or less. I don't like the gate-ification of everything either, but it serves its purposes I guess.

People have been trying out "-ghazi" but it's just not as catchy. Considering Watergate was 43 years ago I wonder how many people under about 40 even know where the term -gate comes from.

How do you suspend a GM for any amount of games?

No contact or interactions with the team. Pretty significant actually, can you imagine JS being cut off from the Seahawks?

On game day surely it's not an issue in the slightest?

Edit: Just read its a basic 4 week suspension from the whole facility. Seems a bit pointless, I hope he doesnt have any type of device that could transmit his voice to other people.

Would be interesting if Rothlesberger had issues in North Africa.
