Although Hayden closed out last year as a full-time player, he's not guaranteed to open the 2015 season as a starting cornerback. The new coaching staff had Hayden working with the second-team for much of the offseason, per ESPN.com's Bill Williamson, while 2014 fourth-round pick Keith McGill played opposite T.J. Carrie with the first unit.

I find this development interesting because McGill looked like a really good prospect to me last year (very physical, great wingspan and athleticism for his size). He also played great against the Seahawks in the preseason (on five targets, McGill allowed no receptions while breaking up two of them and forcing a fumble), then he kind of fell off the map and didn't see many snaps last year. Ken Norton seems to be shaking things up by giving McGill an opportunity to beat out an entrenched veteran.
