Excellent article about our foe St Louis Rams

I remember the game where they beat us last year and I thought - this is the game they will fix their sack issue. Unfortunately this was correct and they look pretty beastly up front this year...

However some interesting observations in this article about their blitzing. If we just figure out how to beat that better this year then things will be interesting

I'd rather have Russ be a moving target vs a stationary one, obviously our OC disagrees with me though.

If we think our oline is the crap. That Rams oline...dear god!

I know right. The game will come down to whose O-Line can suck the least.

Bevell calls horrible games vs Rams. They go balls deep on pass rush in the NFCW, which is stupid. Hopefully Graham and Lockett make the difference this year.

After watching the O line in the first pre season game, my first thought was that we could possibly see Aaron Donald intercept the snap when RW is in shotgun in Game 1. I think the line will improve with experience and playing time, but the first 4 games may remind us of the 2011 version that was so bad they kept the starters in for most of Game 4 of the pre season because they needed the reps. I'm thinking the Rams defense will be more than the O Line can handle this early in the season.

Very good article.

I'm worried about the Oline against the Seahawks, but not for the rest of the season. The two rookies that will be starting were 4 year players in college, and both played in pro style-esque offenses. The C position scares me a bit though.

Even if our offense "plays up to its potential", that's only good enough to score 17 points against Seattle's D....and that's factoring in the game being at home and the first game of the season.

It's interesting - I expect the offense to be a work in progress....so I'm actually much more worried about the defense. Preseason is preseason, I get it....but our game against the Raiders wasn't good....and it was the Raiders...

I would be surprised if the Rams beat the Seahawks in week 1. We notoriously start slow on defense, and our offense is a big work in progress. I'm hoping we can go 2-3 in our first 5 games, and then take off after the bye week. The Schedule softens up a bit after the bye. But to get to my prediction of 10 wins, it's going to take a lot...

I feel like we should sweep the Cardinals, but I feel like that every year.

Unfortunately, the same will be true for the Rams young OL.

If neither OL shows up, this will be an ugly game to watch.

Yeah I hope either Graham or Lockett (or Lynch) has a short-breaking route every single passing down because that's about how often Russell will be under siege. Let the guy who isn't the automatic quick-throw make his way down the field in case by some miracle Russ has 4 seconds.

But since it's Bevell it'll be 4 verticals out of an empty backfield.

The O line is a big concern especially if Saffold can't play. The center position frightens me greatly. I can't believe free agency or a trade wasn't an option since it looks bleak. I believe the Rams offense can do better than 17 points against the Seahawks anytime anywhere. :0190l:

Really?

Dec. 28, 2014, CenturyLink Field: Seahawks 20, Rams 6
Dec. 29, 2013, CenturyLink Field: Seahawks 27, Rams 9
Oct. 28, 2013, Edward Jones Dome: Seahawks 14, Rams 9
Dec. 30, 2012, CenturyLink Field: Seahawks 20, Rams 13
Dec. 12, 2011, CenturyLink Field: Seahawks 30, Rams 13
Nov. 20, 2011, Edward Jones Dome: Seahawks 24, Rams 7
Jan. 2, 2011, CenturyLink Field: Seahawks 16, Rams 6

I just limited the list to this decade. I could keep going.

Why go backwards? Rams are going forward! Forward to DIVISIONAL DOMINATION! Finally a starting QB for the Rams.

Although with a backup QB on:

Oct. 19, 2014, Edward Jones Dome: Rams 28, Seahawks 26

28 > 17. Odd you forgot that. :th2thumbs: With a backup QB. :0190l:

You didn't just say the Rams were capable of putting up 17. Hell, a broken clock is right twice a day. You said they could do it anytime, anywhere. This is false. The Lambs highwater mark in Seattle in the last 10 seasons is 16. You live in quite the fantasy world.

How many points will St Louis hold Seattle to? Basically what will the final score of both games be?

And bonus points. What will the score of the playoff game between the two be?

You can only extrapolate the future from studying the past. You're in a delusional fantasy, I have statistics to back me up.

Average score of a Seahawks game since 2012: Seahawks 25, Opponents 15.
Averave score of a Rams game since 2012: Opponents 22, Rams 20.

The Lambs sucks, and they will suck going forward as long as Fisher is their coach. That is living in the present.

That is your downfall. You view the past to make a case for a static future, i.e. Seahawks great and Rams not great. I see the progress made by the Rams and see a better future on the field. The future is dynamic not static. For instance the Rams knock RW out for the season in the opener. Are the Seahawks a better team in that case? Will any of the previous seasons statistics mean squat? Of course not.
