Washington Redskins linebacker Junior Galette suffered a torn Achilles at the end of practice Wednesday, sources told ESPN.

Galette faces a six-to-eight month rehabilitation, a source told ESPN.com's John Keim.

Redskins coach Jay Gruden didn't confirm the Achilles tear but told reporters earlier Wednesday that Galette suffered a left ankle/foot injury.

"I'm very concerned," Gruden said.

Galette, 27, was released by the New Orleans Saints earlier this summer, less than a year after they signed him to an extension worth up to $41 million.

He was arrested in January on charges of domestic violence, but those were later dismissed. There's also a video from 2013 that shows a man who resembles Galette involved in a fracas on the beach, during which the man strikes a woman. Galette's attorney has denied that the man was his client.

Galette remains under investigation by the NFL and faces suspension.

Karma is one spiteful lady. Hate to see anyone hurt, but that just the fact of the matter.

Ah Junior, I thought the Saints team doctors didn't know what the hell they were talking about? If only you have gone to IR as we suggested...

Thankfully he has that great shaving empire to fall back on, because he's going to need it....

@nick_underhill: Can confirm the Saints are voiding Galette's money, as @MikeGarafolo reported. Team is claiming Galette violated "Rep & Warranty language"

@nick_underhill: Saints are claiming Galette voided the guarantee on his $1.25M base salary, per @MikeGarafolo. Asked for comment, Saints say no comment

Galette really was the worst signing ever made by Mickey Loomis (including Jason David, Kevin Kaesviharn, or Tebucky Jones). The money we spent to keep him, even though he had prior problems...ugh. For context, this would be like Jeremy Stevens having a productive career, and then the front office doubling down on that season in spite of the fact that he was having battles with the bottle. Oh yeah, and then when Stevens was finally reprimanded for having problems with the bottle, and didn't want to change it led to his release, and he would go on to spill every piece of dirty laundry out to the world (fact or fiction be damned).

Seems like a bit of a low blow to go for a released player's money after he was injured at his next job. No love lost there, obviously.

Maybe the worst signing financially. But I wouldn't put him above the horror shows of David and Tesucky, who offered absolutely nothing to us.

You don't say?

Either way I hate when things like this happen and totally shocked it isn't happening to the Seahawks so far this year.

I am no moral giant, but after Junior put he entire Saints team on blast upon his release, and defying his coach prior to his release, I hope the Saints get every last penny out of him. Get that last laugh.
