one of my favorite times of year, unless of course it is my team looking for a new coach.

So far:
Indy
Titans
Eagles
Giants (Coughlin reportedly resigning)

Teams that may fire coaches
San Diego
New Orleans

Any others?

Is Lovie Smith safe? I mean, he hasn't done much down there.

Caldwell in Detroit might be out. Is it for certain that Fisher will be back, can't imagine him staying if they get a fresh start in L.A. Also wouldn't surprise me if Pettine or whatever his name is gets the axe. Oh and don't forget Santa Claras coach.

I think he is totally safe. Rookie QB, some big wins, improving D.
I wonder about Tomsula, though.
And as above, Pettine and Caldwell.

rl, seems like they're stuck with Tomsula for another year. I mean, didn't they go out of their way to say he's exactly what they want?

Agree with this. Jedthro isn't gonna wanna pay for a real HC. Sorry kats, but I think the fiasco that is the Jedthro and Trent the Bobo show will continue.



I think McCoy is gone from San Diego. Really have no idea about Payton in New Orleans. I wouldn't fire him myself.

Have to wonder if Dan Campbell is anything more than interim in Miami too.

Caldwell is a good bet, IMO.

As for Tomsula, I think he'll be there for another year. After all the losses from last year I think they've gotta realize that even in the most positive spin they're now in year one of a two to three year rebuild, and despite what the fans say, burning a new coach during that process is pretty shortsighted and a mistake.

I think (the hope is that) Tomsula will take the lumps for another bad team next year, and then they'll bring in a shiny face to hit the accelerator when the team is actually ready to compete.

Completely different with Lovie taking over a bad team and having relatively short time with them. Then add that they started real bad and then sniffed the playoffs. I think he is closer to an extension than getting fired....

Fisher has done the same year in and year out with that team.

From what I understand Philadelphia already has their choice in place .

No way Sean Payton gets fired. They might trade him, but there's no chance he gets fired.

Mike Tomlin in Pittsburgh ... under achiever.

Yeah but Lovie's only been there for 2 years now, I'd say he gets one more year to show considerable growth or its out with him.
