Hmmm wonder if this is a bread crumb.....................

INDIANAPOLIS — Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said he spoke with former Washington and USC coach Steve Sarkisian, also a longtime assistant for Carroll at USC, about six weeks ago and hopes he will be able to return to coaching soon.

“I’m sure when Steve’s ready to do it he’ll get back,’’ Carroll told reporters at the NFL combine. “And he’s a fantastic coach. In life, a lot of people go through some issues in their lives, and he’s working through it now and getting himself ready and right to get back to compete again. I’ve always thought highly of his coaching ability.’’

But would Carroll bring Sarkisian back to Seattle with the Seahawks?

“I’m not going to go there right now,” Carroll said.

If it wasn't in Seattle, I'm sure Pete would bring him in.

If Bevell actually gets hired as a HC some day, or gets fired (both unlikely).

If Sark cleans up by then.

If Pete is interested.

If Sark wants to return to a city where the media hated his guts.

Lots of ifs.

I think Pete would bring him in. Not to replace Bev but as a qb coach or some lesser position. He has to earn his way back. That's how Pete rolls.

I think this is a good and quite possible theory.

I think he'd have a place on Pete's staff if it wasn't Seattle. But, it can tough to be back to where a lot of your demons reside.

I'm sure Pete is putting in good words with DQ and Gus.
