Are the Rams a playoff team?

So Ive seen a number of different people say that the Rams are a playoff team if they could just find a quarterback.... I think that the fact that they are our kryptonite is blinding folks. This team has a dominant D line, but the rest of the roster outside of the rb coming off reconstructive knee surgery isn't that good. They have oline issues, secondary problems, and their WRs are garbage.

They may have a qb, but with the lack of picks the next few drafts there going to struggle. Just as Atlanta has, they hit on their julio jones pick but the rest of the roster is severly lacking depth....

It comes down to if they hit on the QB or not. "Are" or "are not" a playoff team is totally beside the point until we have an answer to that question.

Completely agree.

I agree as well. Have no idea who the pick will be, or how it will turn out at this point.

However, I'd like to correct this from the OP -

"They may have a qb, but with the lack of picks the next few drafts there (sic) going to struggle."

The Rams do not have a lack of picks the "next few drafts." They have a lack of picks this year, but they only gave up one 1st next year and nothing in future years. Next year's 3rd is a comp pick, and they retain their own pick.

first look at rams roster - "oh definitely a playoff team"

then look at rams head coach - "nevermind."

They would prob be Super Bowl champs if they played the Seahawks every week.

If 8-8 gets an NFC team into the playoffs, the rams have a good chance of being that team. If more than 8 wins are needed, the rams will be left out.

He hasnt even managed to go 8-8 with the rams. 3 out of the 4 seasons he has been there they have won 7 games

I honestly dont know how he is still a head coach

His best record in 6 years is 8-8. If you go by the last 11 years the only time he was even above .500 was in 2007 and 2008. How is this man a freaking head coach

This. He had a little bit of success with the Titans -- when the division was 6 teams deep and 2 of those were horrible (Bengals, Browns) and 2 were mediocre (Steelers, Ravens). Then two more decent seasons after the realignment -- when the Jags and Texans were fairly bad.

The St. Louis drama, moving to L.A., a complete question mark at QB, with Captain .500 at the helm? The only way they make the playoffs is if Palmer and Wilson tear an ACL.

If they want to fill that NEW stadium, they better be a playoff team fairly quickly.

Bingo. But since neither of the two choices are Luck/Wilson level it doesn't actually matter. It sucks when you're in the same division as 2 of 4 best teams in the NFC and you aren't even in the top 8. Goff or whatever.

They still don't have a QB. They will have a rookie QB that has less than a 50% chance of playing in the NFL with any success and probably less than a 5% chance of ever being great. That's just the way the numbers work out. And they probably won't know one way or the other till after this year is in the books.

Even Russ had the training wheels on his first year. I'd say IF the QB they get turns out to be good and IF they can hold onto their talent then MAYBE they could make the playoffs next year.
