Rams - #1 Gurley, #4 Goff, #20 Donald, #41 Austin
Hawks - #3 Rawls, #18 Baldwin, #19 Lockett,
Cards - #11 D Johnson, #14 Matthieu, #29 Peterson
Niners - #50 Gabbert

Full list - https://www.nflpa.com/players/rising-50-2016

Six teams – the Arizona Cardinals, Houston Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Rams, Seattle Seahawks, and Washington Redskins – boast at least three players among the future marketing stars on the list. The Redskins are represented the most, with five players.

The NFLPA Rising 50 rankings take into account on-field performances during the 2015 season, fantasy-league popularity, early demand from current sponsors and licensees, and new faces in strong markets as factors determining potential future sales popularity. To be considered for this ranking, players must not have appeared in previous NFLPA Top 50 Player Sales quarterly lists. The NFLPA Rising 50 is updated annually.

If only Rawls hadn't snapped his ankle he'd be number #1 and OROY. Would've loved to take that from the Rams.

XOXO

Marketability. Seems like a weird thing to project.

I wonder how much being in LA factors for Gurley and Goff.

Cousins #2. Andy Dalton(!) #6. Wentz #10. Tyrod Taylor(!) #16. Paxton Lynch and Brock Osweiler in the top 25. Even Blaine Gabbert cracks the list somehow. QBs to new teams, or QBs coming off big years are almost always going to sell jerseys. Remember how many Matt Flynn jerseys were walking around Seattle in August of 2012? Selling a lot of jerseys doesn't mean the player is actually all that good.

Goff #4?

So this is all based on market potential if things go better than expected? Because he didn't play in 2015 and who's drafting this guy in fantasy?

They are trying to predict marketing success for product sales. Goff doesn't have the first two criteria as you stated, but he has the next two. He's a new face in a strong market and he already has endorsements with Tide, Gillette and Pantene.

@Kearly - absolutely the LA market is a big reason for Goff and Gurley (Gurley was #46 last year in StL and never moved to the Sales list).

Also, this list isn't based on how good the player is, just the potential success of their product sales. Manziel was #14 on the actual Sales list for 2014.

I think Rawls is at #3 because Lynch retired and they predict he might take over the popularity in that role with Hawk fans.
