It really pisses me off when ANY west coast team has the early game on the east coast and then see that the Pats are playing the Jets and it's a late game. What a pile of crap.

Seahawks are playing in Florida and are a late game this week. We're also playing in GB as a late game later this year. The vast majority of games are early games, which only leaves a handful of slots available for late games.

Which is why one of these scarce slots should never be wasted on two east coast teams when a west coast team is having an early start. Don't know which team the OP is referring to, but still.

All our NFC West counterparts are travelling to the east coast for 10am games this week.

Theres only 2 games played west of Texas this week. They could move every cross country travel game to the late slot and NE/NYJ to the early slot and only have 5 late games with 6 early games.

The far to simple solution to the problem of West coast teams playing early games is to schedule more afternoon games and never put east vs east games in a late slot. Week 8 we traveled to New Orleans to play at 10am, Oakland and Arizona also travelled east for early games. There were only 2 afternoon games scheduled that week, 1 of which was GB/ATL. That is absolutely ridiculous, only 2 late games? What a crappy NFL Redzone experience that was.

NE vs NYJ: When games get flexed out, they get flexed to the afternoon time slot.

SEA vs TB is afternoon because of seasonal thunderstorms.

SEA vs GB is afternoon because it is Fox's game of the week.

The #1 benefit for the Hawks being good going forward is they will be put on national TV, more than any other team in the NFC (outside of the NFCE teams, and the Packers of course) going forward. They have replaced what the Niners were in the 80's & 90's. This will lead to less 10 AM games.

The Rams moving helps also.

2017 Seahawks road schedule
@ Dallas - SNF - pretty much a guarantee at this point.
@ NYG - A very good chance to be either SNF, MNF, or Fox game of the week.
@ Tenn - probably 10 AM.
@ JAX - probably 10 AM.
@ NFCS/N Division Winner - A good chance to be SNF, MNF, or Fox game of the week.

Probably only 2 10AM games next year, maybe 3.

2018 Seahawks road schedule
@ CHI - probably 10 AM.
@ DET - Matt Stafford vs. Russell Wilson gives it a chance. I will still lean 10 AM.
@ LV/OAK - impossible.
@ DEN - impossible.
@ NFCE/S Division Winner - good chance at being a National game.

2019 Seahawks road schedule
@ PIT - National Game.
@ CLE - 10 AM
@ ATL - good chance at being a National game.
@ CAR - good chance at being a National game.
@ NFCN/E Division Winner - good chance at being a National game.

The era of playing 5 10AM games is over.

2 is looking like the new norm.

Doesn't TB have afternoon thunderstorms? I.e. why aren't we the early game?

The majority of TB home games have been starting late, apparently it's due to the weather at certain times of the day. I'm no meteorologist but apparently there is a less likely chance of lightning the later in the day you go.
