This is a pretty good move, other than the fact that he prefers an odd front.

Other than the 4-3/3-4 question, this has to be the best hire the Rams could provide McVay with. Years of (good) experience up to and including Super Bowl win to back up the youngster at HC.

I just saw this on TV. I think this is a great hire for the Rams.

Awesome news to wake up to!!!

And from what I've read, he's not changing to the 3-4, so stop with that silliness.

Thank god we added some experience on the DC to balance out our baby coach. :179417: :179417: :179417:

Can the Rams play better on defense against us? I don't think so. Rams were already stealing our lunch and making us lick white dog poop.

This should help vs the rest of the NFL though, probably a good hire.

If all the crap going on wasn't I would be more concerned, Phillips is good, but he needs his personnel, on offense a new system and new coach etc will take a bit to sink in, year two or three I would be more worried.

Regardless of who the Rams hire, they have Goff at QB...LOL

Plus all the draft picks they gave up to get him will not help them in any way.

Donald will end up languishing on a bad team for his entire career.

Big fan of Wade, both the coach and the personality. Still kinda miffed over how Bills ownership went over his head to start Rob Johnson over Doug Flutie in the playoffs.

I've never seen a fan base split on anything more than the Johnson vs Flutie debates that tore Bills fans apart. It was insane.

I know it's fun to say, but as far as this year's draft goes - the Rams are only missing Round 1. The picks are from last year.

Rams are picking high up in the other rounds.

Your Goff hatred has become quite adorable as well.

Wouldn't write off Goff just yet. McVay is not Jeff Fisher.

Agree. I believe that Goff is still an unknown, and we will see what McVay can do with him now.

The team is a bit of a mess, but someone's gotta come in and clean it up. I think the Child will do fine at this, given some time.

McVay did a really good job with Kirk Cousins, who has some similarities to Goff.

Of course I loved Goff in college and felt he could be real good if he had the right coaching. Hopefully Fisher didn't do too much damage to his development in the brief period he played.

Wouldn't be surprised if they go after a vet in FA though. Just in case.

Nice take, thanks Hasselbeck. I didn't watch him in college, but I think he had a tough situation last year, so still waiting to see how he is.

I liked what McVay addressed re: Jared and Cousins in his presser.

I'm hoping they bring in a Vet or two on the WR group.

Not expecting miracles, but hopefully the team is a little more competitive next year, which makes our division more fun.

I also hope McD goes to the Niners and make them more competitive as well.

Insane is a great word for it.

I was a child, and this was way before message boards of this extent, but I remember just thinking how ridiculous it was. Putting politics over winning in the damn playoffs.
