Second-best QB in the NFC after Rodgers. Lions had to do it.

Jesus. You flipped the switch on the Anthony! signal. Consider this thread hijacked.

Instantly the worst contract in the NFL. Should have considered trading him. They simply will not win anything with Stafford, and now he is an even larger anchor on the cap.

What bizzaro reality are you seeing that in? I'm hoping you're just kidding you have to be. Otherwise that's just crazy talk.

27 million for each year, or 27 million for each win he has over teams with winning records (5-46).
5-46? That can't be true? Curious what's his overall record? It has to be pretty horrible.

It's true. You'd be surprised at some of the stats out there. Check this one about Rodgers; he's not as elite as people think. You can't blame your career "4th quarter suck when playing non-scrubs" stats all on your defense, lol:

Damn. Total frontrunner, I would bet real money Russell is more like Elway, Brady, Manning P and Rapelthisburger in this situation.

See the Lions screw the Seahawks in the end. If Stafford is worth 25 million per season than Wilson is worth 50 million. Thanks a lot Lions.

27M for that guy? That's flat stupid.

This is the NFL, if you have a top 10 QB (which Stafford is)..............you don't have a choice, you have to pay the man. Your only other options are franchise tags or let him walk and go back to 3-13 seasons hoping to find a better franchise QB.

At least with a long term deal you can work some magic on the cap hit. Ask the Skins how continuing to pay a mediocre QB like Cousins the rising franchise tag hit is working out.

This is like house shopping in California. It's absolutely ridiculous, but its simply the going rate with no end in site.

Freaking Patriots. I think Brady's base salary is like 10 million this year. I have no doubt that Kraft made a Faustian Bargain at some point in his life.
